Are the parks going to be less crowded this holiday season?

I have never been during this time of year but will be going for five days on the 30th. My GF goes a lot this time of year and said that you have to book far in advance for dining and hotel, and that is what we did. My frien decided to come yesterday and was able to ge a room at ALL Star Music. They told him that there a a lot of rooms availabe still.

Do you think this is true?
If so is it because of cancelations?

I sure hope that it is true because i heard New Years day is the busiest day of the year!

I called Saturday and was able to get a last minute reservation for SEVEN at California Grill for Dec. 29th. I was really surprised.....most of my reservations had been made six months ago. I guess we will see when we get there next week????:xmas:

We leave Christmas morning, and I wasn't making ADR until last weekend ( I know, but it happened) I was able to get most of what I wanted. I hope it isn't too busy, maybe the economy will scare some...

We are trying (although we know it is last minute) to find an available room in a VALUE resort for 1/13-1/20 and they are completely booked. I don't know about Christmas/New Years, but it seems like this Buy 4, Get 3 Promo is working for the start of 2009.

My friend just got back from WDW...she was there from the 10-15. She told me that it was more crowded than usual. But keep in mind the first 2 weeks of Dec., although quieter than the second half of Dec., there is Mousefest and Pop Warner.

Considering that you are going after Christmas...aside from New Years Eve/Day, you should be fine.

I've always wondered about this: how would New Years Eve crowds compare with July 4th crowds?
Insane. MK will close in the late afternoon or even earlier than that and stay that way for the night. I don't think Epcot closed at all last year, but if it did, it wasn't until late in the night. Not sure about Studios.

Yeah, but which day would be worse?
