I love :

Beauty And The Beast
Alladin
Little Mermaid
Mulan
Lion King

..... Are there ever gonna be any new movies to continue these types of tradional animated classics ?

Lile and Stich I liked also.. sorta like a dumbo type movie. But.. where are magical animated movies like the ones I listed? Nothing being made? :veryconfu

If another studio makes a traditionally animated film that is a hit then the mindless suits will think that the public now loves traditional animation and start making them again.

Sadly, the bean counters have taken charge of the creative spirit.

I thought it was a cost thing (rather than tradition) - CG films being cheaper to make because they cut down on "man hours" and the painting of each individual cell etc

It all comes down to what's profitable...

Lately, there hasn't been a successful 2-D film. If you want Disney (and other studios for that matter) to revive the 2D film style, GO SUPPORT IT!

Almost every CGI film created for a mainstream audience has been an unparralled success. Studios know this. Can you blame them for continuing to support it?

Until a CGI film completely bombs, don't expect this to let up. The only traditionally animated film to come out in the coming year is "Curious George."

The average person dislikes the animated musical and much perfers something such as "Shrek" and "Madagascar." Nothing against those movies, but I perfer the musical myself.

They have not painted cells by hand at least since Mermaid. The character animation was still drawn and cleaned up by hand, then scanned and coloured in the computer.

Looking at the making of features on CGI movies, one does not get the impression that it's any less labour intensive to create the performance of a character.
