Are packages delivered kept offsite?

I know I can get an Amazon Prime Pantry order delivered to my resort, Port Orleans - Riverside, and there may be a $5 fee.

I was reading a trip report here a couple months ago and the writer mentioned that when they checked in their resort told them the deliveries were kept offsite and it might take a few days to get their stuff. The writer of that trip report was staying at one of the All-Star resorts I think.

I can't find any information about this when I've searched. I saw a comment on another site that said the same thing about the All-Star resorts. Is this a rule that only applies to the value resorts, or is it everywhere now? Anybody had items delivered for their stay recently.

Just want to allay my fears before my upcoming trip.

this seems odd

unless maybe if packages arent addressed correctly and they cant figure out what reservation they match up with like if the name is wrong or the person doesnt put the check in date as part of the address

we had a package sent when we stayed at bay lake tower in February. when we checked in there was a note on our welcome package saying it was in the convention centre reception next to the contemporary resort,a short walk from bay lake. there was a $5 handling charge but the nice CM waived it:)
we put as much information as we could on the label, reservation number, check in date, contact number, and we called bay lake to inform them that we had a parcel arriving

Yacht Club usually has the packages in their convention center too.

Typically deliveries do end up at your resort. The thing that may cause a delay is USPS. UPS and FedEx both deliver directly to your resort. USPS delivers to a central sorting/collection point, and is marked delivered at that point. It can then take a day or two to be sorted and make it from that point to your hotel.

Convention resorts have always been different, and have always charged a handling/delivery fee due to people attending conventions sending stuff down like pamphlets and posters. I imagine that someone in WDW management realized they are leaving cash on the table by accepting all these shipments from Amazon and Walmart and not charging anything.

I would usually shoot to have my items delivered 2-3 days before arrival. WDW requests no more than a week, and having it arrive day of can be iffy if it is stuff you need (IE diapers) since you have no control over the last mile if you send it Amazon.
