Are Hotels Available before Rego Day...

Hello

I am looking at trying to book a hotel before rego day for the 2017 Dopey Run from 2nd Jan to 12th Jan.. Will I be able to do this before rego day on 26th April..

Assuming by "rego day" you mean registration. You can book a room only reservation 499 days out. You need to do it over the phone, and they will charge you one night deposit based on current room rates. Your rate will then be adjusted accordingly once the rack rates for next year get released. However, unless you absolutely must book a very very select room class (like DVC Club level at AKL or a particular suite at a deluxe) you should have no problem waiting until they release the rack rates later on this year.

Thanks for your reply.. I was hoping to do this online with time difference and cost of a phone call.. I just would like to know my chances of getting a hotel room after paying approx $1100us for the dopey for 2 people.. I will just have to take the gamble

It will be harder for you to register two people for Dopey than it will be to make a room reservation. Jan 2nd might be a smidge tough depending on if people are lingering after NYE, but if you aren't too picky you will be fine. Short of days like Christmas to NYE, and maybe a few random days throughout the year, WDW will have some hotel occupancy. Especially if you are just looking for a particular hotel class (IE value or moderate) you will be able to get something.

If, however, you want to take advantage of any special rates runDisney will offer, you will need to wait until the first day of registration. I would follow @dreamfinder's advice, especially given the time of year of the race. Once the runDisney or other rates are available, you can always try to get one those. But at least you will have a room, just in case. Otherwise you will end up having to stay off property and then deal with driving to the expo at WWoS (ESPN) to pick up your race packet and then whatever park is the starting point of the race you register for. Trust me, you won't want to deal with the parking madness off property runners will have to deal with to get to their race start on time....

Thanks again for your reply.. I have just found out I have international calls on my mobile plan.. We are pretty happy booking a low end hotel like All star sports or music etc.. We have stayed at all star sports before. Unless you have better options for around the same price.. If I book over the phone would I be able to edit my hotel booking...

Gee I hope I don't have any issues booking 2 people.. We will have 2 laptops @ 4am in the morning I think to register..

Unless the particular race lists specific host hotels, you will be okay with All Stars. And yes, if you book over the phone, you will be able to edit your hotel reservation on-line - I just added days to mine - depending on what that edit is. Just make sure to write down the confirmation number the Cast Member making your reservation gives you, so you can link the reservation in your MDE account.

I'm assuming you're running in November's Wine & Dine? So am I. Looking forward cto the added races.

Yeah, if you are happy with any of the value resorts you won't have a problem getting a room.

I am hoping I can do all 4 runs. No dramas I will have a plan B if we can't register online.. We will go with a running company that gurantees entry into the Dopey Run if their is any spots available..
