Are Disney Rides Shorter These Days

I know shorter attention span stuff, but I don't really think so. Longer rides immerse the riders more and keep them interested with more scenes, also it lets you experience an attraction LONGER! Everyone hates when an attraction ends! ( Except Stitch) So, what happened to Disney building 15 minute attractions like The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Horizons???

Really....I got bored on DL's PotC. It seemed much longer but I love WDW's. The only short rides I can think of are the flat rides like Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, the Carrousel...but Peter Pan and the old Snow White are extremely short too and they are originals like HM and PotC! The new Little Mermaid ride is longer but not incredibly long so I'm not really sure if Disney has changed anything :/

Unless universe of energy is gone, I will say they are still long.

HM and POTC will never be gone, how dare you even allude to that.... For your punishment you may not think or do anything Disney for 10 minutes, now go stand in the corner.

Well, I think generally speaking, Disney's rides are a lot longer than most typical theme parks. I mean, a roller coaster ride time is about 1-3 minutes roughly and most theme park flat rides are relatively short. I can't recall other major theme parks making rides that are as long as Disney's. Universal maybe but generally speaking, theme park rides are not that long to begin with. Whether the time hurts or helps the ride is simply subjective to interpretation and opinion. But that's just me.

I dont time the rides... all I know is that I'm standing in the lines much longer that I want to. Sometimes I get off a ride and think, wow that was over waaaay too fast. I've read on sites how long the individual ride times are and dont want to think about the disparity of wait time vs ride time. They are right when they say... Time flies when you are having fun....especially at Disney.;)

I believe they are longer than the average theme park ride but not by much. The Barnstormer is the exception, I find it to be way shorter than any other rollercoaster.

I do feel they are getting much shorter, especially TOT. I don't know if it's just me, but it feels like it is wayyy shorter than a few yrs ago

It seemed like an eternity when I rode it a few years ago... It needed to be shorter... I rode once and only once.. My tummy couldn't handle it at all. I got off and was sooooo dizzy (dizzier than normal, ha) and almost passed out. They all made fun of me...

Stupid Judy.. Stupid Energy!

I think Disney's rides are actually somewhat long. Some of the thrill rides (TOT, Test Track, and Splash are over five minutes... Splash is like 12 or something?). Haunted Mansion, POTC, GMR, COP are also some longer rides. The only really short rides that I can think of are Rock n Roller Coaster and the rides in Fantasyland.

You've only been conditioned to think this way. In reality, almost all of WDW's attractions are people eaters and the wait times you see these days are actually kind of absurd... because of Fastpass.
True... Then again, I don't go on rides with lines over 20m unless I have a FP, so... :D

Well according to WDW stats, every ride at WDW is very long. But then again they start the timer as soon as you enter the line.:D

Post fastpass it seems like the waits are a lot longer. But I have no hard numbers for that.
Well yes - the regular line waits are longer, because all the FP people get to sneak in ahead of them. What I meant earlier was simply that in the old days you had no choice but to wait a long time, hours even - on line. With the introduction of FP you just grab one and come back later, zipping right to the front (usually) - and enjoy. The regular line, sure - I would agree it's longer in general than before... But who actually gets on those lines? Unless FPs are all gone and you're not coming back to the park another day. Like I said, if a line's over 20m and I don't have a FP? NEXT! I'll come back later and try again.

Energy and the American Adventure are like the last two remaining long attractions. Imagination, World of Motion, Horizons, and SSE were all around the 15min mark. Part of the reason why Epcot use to take two days to see it all, now its easily one day or half depending on choices.
