APs and Magicbands

If you're an AP holder that has stayed at a resort, can you continue to use magicbands and fast pass+ on subsequent visits even if you're not staying onsite?

A friend checking out today was told his band would be deactivated after checkout from the hotel and that he would not be able to use them on the next visit. They also said the next group to test bands will be day ticket guests.

Yes, your Band will still work. Though after checkout you're limited to a maximum of 7 days of FP+ reservations at any one time. It'll also still work for admission to the parks on your AP.

Charging still works, but I think that after checkout the charging feature switches to charging every purchase directly to your credit card on file with each transaction rather than letting it build up like with a room charge.
