Depends on when Easter would fall. In 2005 i believe it's in late march. May is probably a better choice, because April is off season unless Easter is falling in it.

I went in May this year. I was there the 15th through the 23rd. The crowds were decent, not bad at all and the weather was great. That was my first time going in May. You need to see when Easter is next year and plan around that. I have never been at or around Easter, but I hear it's really crowded.

My husband and I went in May of last year and it was nice. The crowds were larger than our trip in Dec. 2003, but smaller than when we went at spring break in 2002. The weather was unbeatable!

BTW: I couldn't agree more about the Tiki room!:fork:

We went the first week of May, 2001. The crowds were bearable and the weather was great. It only rained the first and last day of our trip. We did however run into lots of fieldtrip groups in Epcot.

We've gone in August and in May. In our opinions May is way better. The crowds aren't bad and the weather is nice. Our trip for 2005 is planned for May. I just wish it would hurry up and get here!!!

My next trip is May 17-24, 2005. I've never been in May, but I've heard (as some of you have confirmed) that it's one of the best times to go: the refurbs are finished, the parades are rolling, and the crowds are very light. My aunt recently went in May, and their longest wait at any attraction was 15 minutes!

I'm aware, however, that there are local schoolkids days throughout the last week of May; and I've been told to steer clear!

Question: does May count as in-season for seasonal attractions?

We went two years ago the last week in May, our last day of the trip was Memorial Day. The beg. of the week was great, we walked onto many rides, but Memorial Day was a bit more crowded. There were many kids (I guess with the day off) and some large groups.
The weather was great though, mid 80's, and it only rained once, and it was quick.

BTW, fireman, posting to yourself, just to raise your post count is illegal. Don't do it, but welcome to the boards!

well i can tell you from my own previous experience that the best time to go would be between spring break (ends in mid-april) and before we get out of school down here in FL. (usually in mid may) anytime between those two would probably the best time

Last year I went during Easter, and the crowds were pretty big, but we managed. If I were you, I would plan for the end of April, because that's when the crowds go down. Have a wonderful time planning your trip! :sohappy:

May is preferrable to April when it comes to lower crowds. Easter week is obviously the worst but you also have to keep "Spring Break" in mind. Schools systems all schedule different weeks as their spring break and they pretty much fill up the entire month of April.

Go with May. We went the second week of May this year and it was very nice.

My wife planned a trip for Easter 2004 while some relatives were over during Thanksgiving 2003. I couldn't tell them enough times that it was a dumb idea to go then, but they insisted since that was when their kids wouldn't have to miss school.

That was precisely why I explained it was a bad time to go. All the other parents are thinking the same thing.

So they went...and came back 2 days early it was so bad. Mind you, we are spoiled becuase we normally have been going first week of December for years. There are never any lines.

When they went, they waited an hour for most anything and on one day, MK stopped letting people in becuase it reached capacity. Everyday was just a sea of rude people all at capacity.

So if anyone else has some great times at Easter, please let me know.

We are planning on going the last week of april as that is the ny metro spring break week. I also just saw that is when the grad nites are scheduled also for that friday and sat. so we will have to adjust our schedule accordingly. We have done the 1st week in May once when the kids were little. The crowds were pretty light but the parks were not open super late either so its a trade off I guess. I am sure the weather will be great those 2 months. This year we did easter/april and the weather was fairly decent compared to the cold north. Just have a good plan and you should be fine.

Last year we went during Easter and it was pretty busy. We still had a great time though. During busy times, it is essential to take advantage of early entry/late night openings.

I'm glad to see this thread! I'm going next May, too; and since I've never been there at that time of year, I was also wondering about crowds and school days. My aunt and grandmother recently went in May, and their longest wait was about 15-20 minutes; I noticed someone else mentioned this time as well. I've also been told that refurbs are finished, parades are rolling, and crowds are decent. Hooray! May 17–24, 2005, can't get here fast enough.

...by the way, does May count as "in-season"? Does it have E-ticket nights? For knowing so much about WDW, I know NOTHING about going in May! :brick:
