Applying for position with Universal Orlando

Good afternoon - I typically scan the forums and read what's posted versus posting myself. However, I wanted to take a moment and inquire if anyone is familiar with the hiring process at Universal Orlando. I have a background in management and just applied for an Assistant Manager position in Guest Services last night.

Does anyone know the ins and outs of how long I should wait before following-up? Does Universal HR frown upon following-up too soon? I know each HR department can handle follow-ups very differently and just don't want to blow a dream of mine out the window.

Working at a major theme park in management has been a life-long dream of mine and while I'm not trying to count my eggs before they hatch, I don't want to miss an opportunity to follow what I have a passion for. I love working with others and leading a diverse team while focusing on customer-excellence!

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Most theme parks will promote from within or go with candidates who already work in the industry. The best option if neither applies to you is to get a current employee to submit your resume through an employee referral program. A lot of companies have a policy that requires a job posting even if they plan to hire from within, so the job might not really be available. But even so, I'd wait until at least Monday to follow-up with the submission.
