Apple event - iPhone 6 and perhaps more

I'm really not keen on an even bigger screen. That's why I have an iPad mini.

The watch may be interesting. I have the square iPod nano that I used to wear as a watch. Rumors of a $400 price point seem to be a bit much.

I'll be watching live, can't wait. I'm not sure about the screen size. I kind of like the 4", I'll have to see it in person before I decide to upgrade from the 5s. Now with the iPad, if they introduce Touch ID, I will definitely upgrade from my iPad Air.

Watch has to be waterproof for me to consider it...Curious about iPad Air 2 since I have the 3. Was hoping they would sneak in the iPad for this event instead of waiting until October.

Information on iCloud Drive would be nice. I may switch from Google Drive but am concerned about things being wonky without the final version of Yosemite (I'm using the public beta).

I'm excited for a bigger screen. :) Of course I have a purse to carry my phone in. I could totally see how guys wouldn't like them though - do they still fit in a pocket at that point?

Assuming the rumors are true...

I'm hoping they'll announce the 5.5" model, but if production is delayed on that one I'll most likely go for the 4.7" model (32GB...apparently 16GB doesn't cut it for me anymore :grumpy:) instead of waiting for the 5.5" one to come out (apparently early 2015 if what I'm reading is true and they really are delayed). I went to a Verizon store to check out phones from other manufacturers that are the same size just to get an idea and I do like the 5.5" size.

My upgrade date is 9/18...just in time. :) I hope they will have a pre-order option. My iPhone 5 has been acting a little wonky so I'm ready for a new model.

While this is "non WDW discussion" I think it will be interesting to see the impact this could have on WDW. I think this could be the beginning of the end of Magic Bands. Both the phone and watch are rumored to use NFC chips enabling it to become a secure payment device. I think in the next few years the My Disney Experience app could just become your Magic Band, it seems redundant to issue people something that their phone/watch may already be capable of. For example Starwood hotels has already made this jump and has been implementing an app that works as a room key with your phone. Supposedly Disney stores have already received new registers capable of accepting purchases through the new phone and or watch, so the partnership between the two companies could also be beneficial. I guess we'll no more in a few hours.:)

Live stream isn't working on my phone...sadness. They're either overloaded or I'm just being a tech dummy (entirely possible). :)

It's not working on my iPad mini or my iMac. I briefly got a lice stream of Tim Cook talking but it was being overdubbed by a lady translating in Japanese.

Hmm. Not sure what I'm going to do. It's interesting that they got rid of the 32GB size...I was hoping that they would make that the smallest storage size available. I bet a lot of people were...

Well, I'm definitely going to pre-order one of the 64GB options. Not sure if I want to pay the extra $100 for the bigger phone. $399 for a new phone is pretty steep.

Love the iOS 8 family share option. My mom and I have been sharing an Apple ID so that we can share purchases. Now she can get her own ID and we can still share purchases and have a family calendar.

My thought...
  • The live stream not working is just embarrassing.
  • I hope they don't artificially limit Wi-Fi calling to the iPhone 6.
  • I do like the sort of wink-wink acknowledgement of the leaks.
  • Surprised they went with Apple Watch name over iWatch.
  • I get why smart watches default to the square shape, but still really like a round shape for a watch.
  • The Apple Watch straps look nice. Watches are still more of a fashion statement.

Me too my DH and I have our own accounts and the two kids share mine. As they get older everyone can have there own and still share purchases.
