AP voucher exchange?

We will be arriving at WDW by car late(7:00ish) on a Sunday evening and staying at the Beach Club. What time does the Guest Relations window close at the International Gateway? Will we be able to get our vouchers exchanged to get our AP rate at the resort? Thank you for any help.

I am pretty sure you the gate stays open until very near park close (due to fireworks attendance). I did this at MK during my last trip. The family stayed in the room while I went to MK for this sole purpose.

You will not be able to exchange the voucher for your AP at your resort. I have never understood why resorts don't do anything with APs (can't buy them there either).

It should be open until the Park closes, and then some. From past experience we have used this Guest Relations very late (circa 10pm when Epcot is open till 930) and have yet to come across a problem.

So you should be fine!
Enjoy your trip.

Has anyone ever been able to check in with a voucher and then brought back their activated AP to check in the same day? The reason I ask this is because we will probably be arriving at AKL around 9:30ish in the morning and our AP's aren't activated yet. We were hoping that we could get a shower and refresh ourselves (if our room is even ready) before heading out to get our AP's activated and spend the day in the parks. I was just wondering if any CM's at check-in ever let you go on the honor system and bring your activated AP's back? I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask when we dropped our bags off. :)

AP Voucher

I have never heard of them letting you check in without the actual pass. You could exchange your voucher at DTD. That is what we did.

For what its worth, my last trip (September) I went through the trouble of stopping at EPCOT to exchange my voucher for the AP, then went to the Pop Century to get my room. The folks at check-in said I shouldn't have bothered, all they needed was a picture ID for the AP rate?! I have read people having both experiences - you need the AP/the voucher is okay - I guess it depends on the mood the check-in folks are in :brick:

I have never been asked to show my AP when I have taken advantage of AP rates. I have never been asked to show my resort ID when I have taken advantage of the extra magic hour (aka early entry). I have never been asked to show my admission media when using Disney transportation either.

I have checked in twice before with only the voucher. It is very inconvenient to have to go to the parks or guest relations before checking in--especially when checking in late at night. I wish they could come up with a better way of doing it.

Thanks for the replies! I figure I'm just going to play it safe and maybe just get it exchanged at Downtown Disney before we go to AKL. We're using Quicksilver as our transportation from the airport so maybe I"ll take advantage of that free 30 min stop to swing by DTD and get the vouchers exchanged. It might just save us time in the end.

We've used the Downtown Disney site to purchase or activate AP before heading to hotel to take advantage of the AP rate.
As to the mention above about the need to have resort ID to get the Extra Magic Hour, I assure you they were checking at MGM and AK back in late July and there were some people less than pleased because they didn't have one.
I've never been asked for resort ID on transportation, either, though.
