AP Rates-Do they automatically apply?

We are planning our December 06 trip and I am buying an AP. I remember reading somewhere that if you have an AP and make a reservation before rates are announced that WDW Reservations will automaticly apply your Passholder discount. I think it was/is called 'The best rate program'. Is this correct? Or would I have to cancel any exsisting reservations and re-book with my AP info?

This program is no longer in effect. If you make a ressie before the AP rates are released, you will have to call back the day of (or soon after) the release and have CRO apply them to your ressie. But, you wouldn't have to cancel and make a new one...

Hope this helps...:sohappy:

What the previous poster said plus -- there are a limited number of rooms available at the AP rate so if you call to late, even if you already have a room, they wont apply the rate as it is sold out. SOOOOO call as soon as you hear the code has been released.

Thanks for the info, everyone! Great to know this.

As stated before the "best rate program" is no longer in effect so you rate will not automatically switch to the lower rate if and when one becomes available. However if you book through Kingdom Konsultants and make them aware of what discounts you qualify for they will automatically rebook your reservation with the discount if it becomes available.

I hadn't heard that the Best Rate Program is now gone. Not to say that I'm sad to see it go. Give me the good old-fashioned code releases anyday.

*snort* Yeah, when they bother releasing them...
