Ap Question

AkiraRaptor

Meega, nala kwishta!
I'm planning a trip to WDW for October of this year. I want to get AP tickets to get the room discounts when I book the room.

What does Disney need from me when I book the room with the AP discounts? Do they need a confirmation number that I bought the AP tickets, or can I just book the room at the AP price?

Can't wait to go again!!! :sohappy:

Just did this last week, You just say you have an AP. They don't ask for anything at the time you make the reservation. They do tell you that you need it to check in the hotel. Although, we always get AP's and I've never actually been asked to show it when we checked in.

Do you know if the AP discounts will be extended past September 30th?

When I called WDW for pricing on AKL AP pricing, they only had pricing up until 9/30. They did extend AP pricing up to 12/25 last year, from what I read on mousesavers.com.

Also, where is the best place to turn in the AP voucher for the AP passes at WDW?

Sorry, can't help you about the Sept 30 info. We're going Sept 24 so we could get the AP discount.

As for where to turn the voucher in, I guess it would depend on which park your resort is closest too. I think I read somewhere on these boards that you can trade them in at the Disney Store at MCO. I'm sure someone else can confirm that. :)

I've heard the same thing about MCO, but haven't verified. However, we've redeemed vouchers twice and have had the best luck at EPCOT. There were plenty of windows and it ran smoothly. Whatever you do, don't do it at MK. Your bus (assuming you're staying on grounds) will drop you off at MK, you'll then have to board a monorail and double back to the TTC to redeem your voucher, then you'll have to hop yet another monrail back to MK! By then the lines at the turnstiles will be quite long, and you'll be quite tired. Been there, done that!

All you need to book the room is to say you will have an AP. Then show the AP when you check in if they ask for it (we have only been asked once).

There probably will be discounted rooms later this year. They never announce those too far ahead of schedule (usually not more than 6 months or so). We usually go ahead and book a room at the regular rate and then call back periodically to see if the passholder rate is out yet--if it is we transfer the reservation to that rate--have never had a problem doing this.

The last I heard, you could buy an activated AP at the shop in MCO, but you could NOT activate a voucher purchased elsewhere there. However, you can probably find the most up to date info about this at WDWIG.COM.

Good Luck.
