If I purchase an annual pass now it does not go into effect until it is first used? Example, purchase in March but do not make a visit until November. Is this correct?

As long as you don't buy it onsite. They will send a voucher card that you will turn in for a magicband/card when you get there. The minute you turn in the voucher, your time starts even if you don't go to a park that day.

When we first purchased our APs we were able to use the voucher number to log on to the AP site and see all the discounts. That was a plus for us because if a AP room discount popped up we were able to book it. All they required you to do is show a valid AP during your stay.

Just FYI, even if you don't have the voucher, you can call and ask about AP discounts on resorts.

It is easier with the voucher though.
