AP plus ULP = Multiple Fastpass?

We are going to be at WDW in 3 weeks :sohappy: . Hedging our bets because there were no AP rates posted (and still aren't but that's a sep. topic) and it was a pretty good deal, we booked the Fairytale Vacation Package that came out in June. This leaves us with an AP that is still good plus we will have our UHP's from the vacation package. The question then is what to do with the UHP's? I think they are only good for the length of our stay. Could we use both them and the AP to get multiple fastpasses?

thanks,

Kevin and Mona

Well only a pass that was used for entry to a specific park on a given day will get you a fastpass for attractions in that park. So no they can not be used to obtain extra fastpasses.

Not sure how you saved any money buying your tickets twice (AP and ULH). Do you have a real AP, not just a voucher? The FP machines check to make sure the ticket was actually used for admission. I guess you could enter the park, leave and then enter using your other ticket. That would work. I think I'd go the other way and try to have the ULP ticket deleted from the room charge. See if they can get you some type of AP rate.

THE FTP Packages HAVE to include the tickets, there is no way you can delete them. I agree just Enter the park, exit, and reenter using the UPH passes, thats the only way I can think to be able to get multiple FPesses

Some guests with AP were able to delete the UPH from the FTP (only needed the UPH for one guest). I think that loophole was closed but if I had an AP I'd certainly try at checkin.

Thanks for the input.

Yes, even with the UHP, if you stay at a delux resort, you come out ahead with the FTP (especially since there are no AP discounts posted for Sept). We did call and ask if there was anything we could do to avoid having to buy the UHP but we were told by the cast memeber that is was part of the package and that there was nothing they could do. I will have to look into that again when we check in.

thanks,

UPH Passes are a part of the Fairytale Pkg. There is NO way to get out of them. If you booked a Fairytale pkg with only 1 adult in the party, you will be found out at check in and your pkg revoked. Discount packages which include UPH passes are the new way dicounted rooms are being offered. AAA, Florida residents, Cast Members and a few other groups still get room only discounts. I hate to say this, but AP holders were never promised room discounts. An AP gets you into the park 365 days at a very good price. $369 for an AP vs. $329 for a seven day park hopper sounds already like a great deal without any possible discounts! Really, what is the motivation for buying an AP? To enter the park in a cost effective way or to get a Disney version of an Entertainment discount card?

I hope that I have not made anyone mad with my post, but this is the official point of view from my experience with Disney Marketing and DRC. Again, I'm sorry if my post offends any AP holders.

You're entitled to YOUR OPINION, I only posted that when FTP was introduced a few people were able to delete the passes for one adult in the party. Disney subsequently closed that loophole. Sorry but I suspect Disney will honor the terms of the reservation.

I don't really see the problem with the OP politely asking at checkin if they could get some type of credit since they have AP.

I'm not mad at your post but I THINK YOU COME ACCROSS AS VERY RUDE. No one in this thread said anthing about AP being entitled to any benefits or perks. OP simply asked if they could use both tickets to get extra FP tickets.

For what it's worth, SuperMatt70, I did not think you came off as rude.

You were delivering bad news and that is never easy.

I think my perspective might be a bit different if I were an AP holder waiting desperately and apparently in vain for room discounts.

AP holders have come to expect the room discounts and are rightly upset that they seem to have ended so abruptly.

But as Matt said, they were a bonus and should never have been the sole reason to buy an AP, although discounts do make the AP "worth" more.

Passes

You can get a fast pass with each ticket. You can enter the park using your annual pass and then leave the park and use your length of stay pass to enter. This way both passes would be activated.

Thanks Lewisc for your reply. I never said that my post was "MY OPINION" but was only Disney's view of the situation. As for other issues you seem to have with my post, please feel free to contact me @ my email & I'd be more than happy to explain/discuss Disney policy that Cast Members all across property, including myself, must enforce each and everyday.

(Extra big thanks Yellow Shoes!)

I also didnt think your post came off as rude. Seeing you live in Tampa do you work for the Tampa CRO Office? I would trust the info more from a CM than any other members on this board.

Ah, so you're the Marketing guy that is chasing all the AP holders off-site

Agree- AP gets us down to Mouseland:)
Agree-AP discounts get us to stay, eat and shop on-site:animwink:
Agree-AP holders were not promised discounts

Disagree:( with not offering AP discounts as a good marketing plan:(

If marketing had not historically offered AP discounts, if marketing was not giving resident discounts , if marketing was not sending discount e-mails and post cards all over the place, most AP holders would not be upset by lack of discounts.

I don't agree with the current WDW marketing plan:( However I am not upset with your post:D

I have never in over 35 trips run in to a CM that was anything but GREAT:sohappy: That's why I have a trip booked for Sept. and one for the end of the year. :sohappy: A Sept. discount would be nice since the end of Dec. is rack rate for all land.

I've stayed on and off site. I can stay off site again. Marketing may just market me right back to 192:lookaround.

Matt--Sorry, I don't agree with your opinion. Some (I suspect not very many)people were allowed to book FTP packages with only one adult getting UPH tickets. Those people (with valid confirmations) have grounds to complain if the package they were sold isn't honored in check-in. You're quoting "Disney's view" without listing an official source. From my point of view your post is nothing more than your opinion, possibly based on what Disney told you in some training class. I have no reason to believe you are high enough in Disney to make offical policy or speak on Disney's behalf.

I agree Disney is under no obligation to offer any specific AP discounts for hotel rooms but Disney did list the availability of some AP discounts as being one of the benefits of purchasing an AP. Disney certainly has the right to reduce or even eliminate AP hotel discounts BUT I am offended that you're insulting our intelligence by pretending that hotel discounts wasn't one of the benefits being promoted by Disney.

Get over yourself. You don't know me and until you do, don't make any sweepping generalizations about me or my role. I'm done with this topic.

Again, as I stated in my original posting, I did not want to offend anyone on this board, but just share information that I am privy to on a daily basis.

Sorry, I find you to be rude and arrogant. You've given me no reason for me give any credibility to your "information". I find it hard to believe that Disney is intending to planning to refuse to honor reservation/rates that they may have extended to some customers.

You are factually incorrect, Disney has (in the past) promoted hotel discounts as a benefit of AP. Disney may decide to reduce (or discontinue) the practice BUT it was a benefit that was promoted as a benefit.
