AP or no AP?

I'm going to DL next year, and I'm trying to decide if buying an AP to get the extra perks (hotel discount, free parking, etc...) would be worth spending the extra money for the AP. I only plan on spending 4 days in the parks, and I do plan on staying at one of the Disney owned hotels.

Has anyone had experience with this in the past?

I don't think it would be worth the extra expense for only 4 days. If you are staying on property, the added perks won't save you as much money as you would need to pay to get them. Just go with the park hopper.

I agree with Patrick's assessment. And may I also say that you don't have to stay on property. There are actually some fine hotels and motels right across the street from the gate where you can get good deals. When visiting WDW, I stay on property. When visiting DL, I stay off.
