AP Magic Bands and AP Card

Yes they still come with a type of card. It's at the bottom of the box under the bands on an envelope. Our last ones received had them at the bottom but that was several months back.

We renewed in September and ours did not come with anything other than the band and a slider.
EDIT: Ours was not a renewal but a brand new purchase. However it was the old passholder program.

That's when we got ours around that time and it was in a blue envelope under the magic band cardboard holder you had to pull out and look under at the very bottom of the box.
How recently did you receive yours? I was searching online at the FAQ and they said they were no longer sending out the cards and they were no longer needed, but it said that you need to present your pass to receive the discounts and parking. Mine was back around August or Septemberish give or take. So yes it could have stopped since then of course. It was a gold colored card I have them somewhere. We used then when we were in WDW in October.

Ours wasn't the old style of box... It was a new slide out box that was orange and brown. and the bands are on a triangle cardboard... Let me take a pic and post

I know guest services will still give you a hard card though you can use if needed for you discounts etc. Parking they scan your band but at the stores they need to see your physical card. They were still asking for the card and our ID at stores in October. We had to show the physical card and Id When using our Passholder discount or DVC discount. (We always grabbed whichever one was convenient each time)

In september, did you get them to scan your band?? Every time we tried, they were like.. We need to see your card.. Holy heck let me get out my wallet and hold up the line to prove I don't need to spend $20 to park. lol

It's all good! Lol I did see them when someone posted a pic on Facebook or here before. So I can't say if those had the cards only mine did in the old blue boxes. So forget anything I advised being mine were the old ones last summer/fall. Haha!

No you need a card at the stores so we used our card we had and our ID. Parking we were staying onsite as always so we requested a paper parking pass (yes they gave us one still in October at Kidani by asking the front desk) so we had no experience using our bands for parking yet.
So, I utilized the chat function on WDW website, and the cast member confirmed they are no longer sending out cards, but you use your Magic Band for parking, and you can continue to use the gold discount cards, even after they expire, for the discounts. If a newer card is desired, you must now go to Guest Services to obtain one.
