It looks like there is a room discount for pass holders for December 2016. Can anyone do me a humongous favor and let me know if the Contemporary is included?

Thanks so much!!!

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
You can just call even if your not an AP holder yet you can book by calling or ask for AP rates. Don't have to have a current AP to book but must have it by check in. Just call. ;)

Ok thanks!!! Will do!

You're very welcome!! I have booked numerous times with an AP discount before buying my AP and always have been told when calling just to make sure I buy one before going check in. Always worked smoothly. You just can't book it online like a current AP holder can. ;)

Nothing was available, Contemporary is completely sold out. I give up. Looks like I'm stuck with my rack rate prices this winter. :(

It's almost embarrassing.lol

Check back several times. Depending upon the type of reservation - just room or package - people have to cancel within the timeframe in order to avoid penalties. Something may show up.

If I was going one week later my vacation would seriously be almost 60% less. Stupid work.. I can't travel that week :( I just need to accept it.

I've noticed the same thing. I've been looking at dates for October and November and there isn't much available in general, even less that offer the AP discount.

It's so strange.. None of the MK resorts have discounts.. Probably bc all have been sold out for my dates since I booked back in March.

A friend of mine is trying to book for anytime in the first two weeks of Dec. at the advertised 20% off rate and cannot find a room for 5 consecutive dates at any participating resort. People are certainly taking advantage of the discounts.

Most of them have already been sold out long before any discounts were released. I know Poly and the Contemporary have been full since late spring.

I know. That's part of my problem as well. We've had increased difficulty getting two rooms at any monorail resort over the last few years. We wind up taking what's available and moving the trip to fit the dates that are available.

I'm really surprised (or not) that they are not adding a resort while they are expanding the parks. I imagine that the demand for rooms is going to go up as they open new rides/attractions/lands over the next few years. If the resorts are running at near capacity now, it's going to be impossible to book a last minute room in a couple of years.

I know they are expanding the Wilderness Lodge and there is talk about expanding Caribbean Beach. Are there any other resort expansions planned?

It's not all of the resorts..just the MK ones. A few of the Epcot ones are available.. The monorail one's sold out so fast. I'm lucky that I booked in March..I think WL is even full now too. I have no idea if this is the norm for November/December, but if this trip wasn't in conjunction with a cruise I would have been SOL, I've never booked this far in advance before!

Just remember, the current expansion at WL is DVC...both the cabins and makeover of that one wing to DVC studios. And I bet the new DVC cabins, like the Poly bungalows, will be excluded from any discounts. And I understand the proposed expansion at CBR is for DVC also, which makes me wonder if they will convert one of the buildings and thus reduce cash rooms. I think WDW could use more Moderate rooms. The latest resort at Uni, Sapphire Falls, is a fancy moderate with suites. And like Uni, I'd include some suites, similar to AoA or the family suites at All Star Music. Something like the Ft. Wilderness cabins...but not so remote.

I agree they really do need more family suites. A family needs more options than AoA or a Poly Bungalow...there should be an in between.

I don't know why they haven't realized that. The 2 most recent resorts at Universal are geared towards families. Not everyone can afford a 1 or 2 bedroom at a DVC resort...and most DVC studios are really too small for more than two adults, don't care how many sleeper sofas/Murphy beds you shove in the room. Yeah, it's nice they have a little bigger frig and a microwave and toaster, but I can't see a family of 4 staying in a WL Villa studio.

I have a family of 2...myself and a 6 year old. I wouldn't stay in a DVC studio.lol I considered renting points for our December trip last Spring, for BLT, but the more I read about the size of the room I decided against it. Mainly I just couldn't justify being outside of the main tower and having an odd shaped room. I have the same thoughts on the Poly, not the main building issues, I just prefer the layout of the regular rooms over the studios. To be fair though I've never actually been inside a DVC studio.

However, the Poly studios are some of the biggest on property, mainly because they are converted cash rooms, which were the largest of any of the deluxe resorts. Plus the bathroom and a half (can't call it two if one doesn't have a toilet) is handy. There are lots of studios as they used three of the long houses.

You should go on the Allears.net channel on YouTube...they've got videos of most of the Disney resort rooms.
