AP Expiration & renewal Questions

Okay I am curious as I was reading the passholder site about the expiration and renewal of the AP. My first day I arrive is actually the expiration date of my Premium AP and I will be on property for 2 weeks. Now the site states that I can renew it 30 days after the anniversary date....Does this mean I can still use my card during the 2 weeks I am in the resort without having to renew it and wait until after my trip is over to renew it?

My other question is I left after they were giving the new ap RFID cards out (I still have the paper AP ticket when I got it) Since I have to go to guest service booth would they just switch it or will they tell me to renew it right then and there when I really would like to wait until after my trip?

It expires and is no longer good for admission on the expiration date; however there is a 30 day grace period to renew at the renewal rate. After that you pay the full annual pass rate.

The 30 day window is only for the renewal rate. You will have to renew to get into the parks. You can link your pass onto your magic band of you are staying on a testing resort. If you aren't you will have to exchange your paper AP for an RFID card.

Alright it makes more sense now..The way it's explained made it confusing as I was hoping to wait to renew it. But, that's alright. Thanks!

The pass expires when it expires. The renewal rates are is good for 30 days. :)

I don't know if you need an RFID one or not, sorry. Your new one, should you choose to get it, will be plastic. :) I still have Plusses on old Park Hopper Plus tickets and they just run them through a handheld machine when people use them...maybe they can do that for you - I just don't know.

Also, if you renew it after it expires but within the 30-day window, the expiration date stays the same, they just change the year. You wouldn't get 365 from the date you renew.

In your case it doesn't matter, since you'd be on your trip already, but for others who arrive 3 weeks after their pass expires it might matter.
