AP Discounts

I'm on the fence for getting AP's for our upcoming May 2016 trip. I would get AP's only if I thought we would get a discount on our rooms. Otherwise, I'd just as soon get a package that includes the tickets.

We are staying at the AKL with a savanna view and the Poly Concierge Theme Park View (we always split our stay at two resorts).

I'm wondering if there is any real possibility of an AP discount for these types of rooms given that WDW does not have a problem selling them.

I have not been following the AP discounts the last few years. Is it unrealistic there will be an AP discount for the rooms I am booking? Thanks for any input.

There is no guarantee that you will get any AP discount ever. There are just too many factors to say for sure.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
If you plan on spending 11+ days in the parks within 12 months once you activate your AP then regardless of any room discounts etc it is worth buying the AP. Don't buy it if you do not plan on spending 11+ days in the parks within 12 months in the hope for a discount. Really the AP's only save an extra 5% from the public discounts anyway most offers.
We love the AP but it mainly is because Just our 1 trip usually in a year is about 13-14 days and if we can squeeze another in before the cutoff then even better. Also loved the 10% off merchandise but we get that from DVC now also so don't need the AP for that either. But like mentioned we still buy to save on park admission because we go over the break even point on buying the AP.
I used to purchase one AP for room discounts before we joined DVC but it saved us only a fraction more than the public discount so unless you will spend those 11+ days I would advise against it. :)
