Just for giggles I checked Disney's online reservations for an AP/Dining plan package. I currently have a 10day trip in December, water room @ YC (postcard discount) for 4 (2 adults, 2 kids 6 & 2). We're going to purchase 10day MYW tickets.
My AP expires in 4 days so I just thought I'd look into the dining option for passholders. The difference between the pkg I was quoted (room & dining only) & my current hotel cost is $2377.02. So over 10 days that's 237.02 per day for 3 of us to eat (under 2 not included, any meals would be an extra cost). And that only includes 1 TS meal and 1 snack! The Deluxe plan would be much more. I don't know why a CS meal wasn't included, but that's what it said.
So make sure to do the math and exhaust all discount options before jumping for one of these plans/pkgs. I'm sure the hotel cost is greater than mine and that's why the meal cost is so high in this instance. Ask for AP room discounts, ask for AAA or military discounts.
