AP booking question.

My family is coming down to FL for spring break and looking at staying on property for a few days. I have an AP (no one else in my family does) and would be staying with them for the whole time. My question is - Does the reservation need to be in my name to be able to get AP room rates or can I just be listed as one of the guests?

If you want the AP rate, it is your reservation. You pay, you check in.

If your family wants to reimburse you for that, that is between you guys.

Actually, you can just be a listed Guest on the reservation. You'll have to be prepared to show it at the front desk if asked for it. But I think if you want the reservation to be in someone else's name, you'll have to book it over the phone (or through a travel agent). I don't know if you can do that online.

Also, the rule is one room per AP discount. So if you have two rooms, you'll need two people with APs to get the discount, though you don't have to have one staying in each room. (Example: A few years back I went with 3 friends, we stayed at Riverside in two rooms. Two of us had APs, two did not. Even though the two AP holders stayed in the same room, as long as two rooms = two AP holders, all was fine with the front desk)

Correct, you can just be listed on the room, but you will need to make the reservation or give your card to the person making the reservations in case they ask for the number. Also there are times they ask to see it at check in so be sure it's also available then. Have a magical time!!

There is no requirement to have an AP to reserve an AP discounted room. You can reserve the room and get your AP when you arrive or your friends can reserve and you can show yours at check-in, they don't need to have your info. I have been asked to show my AP on check-in once [my reservations are always made using the same info, so the system knows if I have a current AP]. I hadn't bought it yet and the CM said just to make sure I dropped by and showed it during my stay. I've also checked in without one and was never asked, it depends on the CM I guess.
