AP and Walt Disney Travel Company Question and New WDW discount offer.

I have two questions. I want to know what are all of the benefits of the Premium Annual Pass besides the theme parks and Downtown Disney. I want to know about resort discounts and other discounts. What kind of discount do you get if you buy your AP with the Disney Club.

The second question is: I always book my WDW vacation through my travel agent (Go Go Worldwide Tours and a local agent) and I want to know if it would be better to go through the Disney Travel Company.

P.S.- WDW just released their new discount. It is the Fall Fling and it has value resorts from $59 a night, moderate resorts from $89 a night, and deluxe resorts from $129 a night. You can get the deal with or without tickets. The code for this is CQT and is for travel between 8/25/02 and 10/2/02 and must be booked by July 8, 2002.

Hope this info. helps someone. I am planning on booking it for the end of Aug. I am also thinking about getting an AP but it has been a while since I have had one. Any info. would help.

Thanks,

I could list out all of the info on the APs here, but it will be much simpler for both of us if you go to www.wdwig.com and check out Deb's info on these. She lists every discount, the prices (with and without Disney Club cards), where to buy them, etc. etc. Everything you have ever wanted to know about the annual passports.

The Walt Disney travel company is just there name for booking. The entire trip will be booked by you. The travel agent will be able to help you with what you need. You can probably book the trip on you own though, so you might just want to go through Disney.

It has been my experience that you will end up spending more money by going thru Disney Travel. Try pricing your trip thru Disney Travel on your own, as well as by going thru a travel agent, and then price it ala cart. In other words, price your flights, rooms, and tix yourself. Going thru Disney or your travel agent can save you some hassle, but you will most likely end up spending more, and you will most likely end up with some "perks" that you will not use, but paid for anyway. This is mostly centered around the tickets. Most of the packages that Disney sells have "plusses" associated with the tickets. Check to make sure they offer something you will want to do. It all boils down to time and money. If cost is an issue, I would say book your own trip. If convenience is the biggest issue, then call Disney Travel!:D

I have gotten really great prices through the Disney Club. If you are a member just send an email to them via their websites, there are no committments.

I am looking into using the fall discount. I plan to buy an PAP and book my room (Polynesian Con. Lagoon View) using the discount. I know that you can get a discount on your AP with the Disney Club. I have not been a member since they changed the name from the Magic Kingdom club to the Disney Club. Does anyone know what the discount is on AP's with the Disney Club? Thanks for your help so far. I have a while to book the trip but want to get all my info. soon so I can book it right away.

Oh ok thank you. I figure it might save me a few bucks. I mean I have to buy two of them so I could buy the club for $40 and save $50.

This will be the second time I booked my own trip from a to z. I saved a thousand dollars the first time! I know this time I saved even more because of my AP. Just a FYI an AP is only about 40. dollars more then a seven day hopper and w/ my AP I saved 30. dollars a night on our room. Not to mention next year we wont need to by passes. ;) Well worth it!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all of your help. I booked my trip the other day and can't wait to go. It is still 3 months away but I have already planned everyday of my trip (I never follow my plans but it is just nice to dream about the trip). Yes, I did use the Disney Travel Company but only for my room. I got a PAP for my room tickets. All I have to do is give them my bags when I get there and then go off to a park and start using my AP. I will make sure to post a Trip Report after I get back.

!!!Polynesian here I come!!!

I picked up just the Anual Pass. The reason being was I knew I was coming down 2 more times within the year. Plus I got a discount on hotel rooms. And I had no desire to go to the water parks.
