 Hi everyone...am in need of assistance :banghead:

We recently purchased APs for the room discount and TIW card, however, have other tickets we need to use for entrance into the theme parks and as a result, have not linked the APs into our MDE account...

Is it true, our APs will not be officially activated {i.e. AP expiration clock start ticking} until we use the APs to enter a theme park? even though we will use the APs to purchase and use TIW card? :jawdrop:

Hope that made sense

Thanks much for responding :)

The AP clock starts the day you exchange the voucher for the APs. If you want TiW, you'll need valid APs, so you're better off saving you tickets until sometime in the future when you don't have APs.

Your "other tickets" should be valid forever until you use an admission on them [if they are complimentary or event tickets, they may have an expiry date].

The AP clock should start the first time it is used to enter a park

Regular MYW tickets' clocks start on first use [14 days from first use unless the non-expire option is added]. APs start when activated, either at purchase onsite or when an exchange voucher is converted to an AP.

Since physical AP tickets can only be issued at GR or ticket windows, the vast majority of APs are used for the first time the same day as they are received, so expiry would be one year later. If someone were to go to WDW and get an AP but then choose not to use it that day, it will still expire a year later.

Thanks so much for your replies, truly appreciate it... we'll save the other tickets and use towards AP renewal or for use at another time...

Have a wonderful weekend :joyfull:

Since you already have the other tickets lined to MDE and you'll be linking your AP's, you might want to proceed with caution on your first day. Stop by Guest Relations and have them check your account. You'll want to make sure the AP's are "first priority" in your profile. Otherwise, it'll use up the MYW tickets first before going to the AP. (And then after you enter the park perhaps double-check at Guest Relations to make sure a day wasn't subtracted from the MYW tickets)

There were a number of glitches when the MDE system started rolling out with people who had multiple tickets or tickets and an AP on the same profile, but that was *last* summer and I haven't heard any horror stories since then, so I'd presume that they worked out whatever problems they had.
