AOA things to do!

We are currently booked for 10 nights at pofq in September (bookd a bounceback with free dining). New are currently considering adjusting our trip and doing 1 night at aoa, 3 night cruise followed by 6 nights at pofq.. Just wondering if there is anything special at aoa that we should check out since we won't have park tickets or dining plan do that day! We would be booking a little mermaid room for just us 2 adults!

The main big blue pool has poolside activities and games for the kiddies. It can be a little loud and rambunctious. At night the Lion King area has a movie under the stars

Good to know! Thanks! I mean dtd is always an option to. We really will only be there for 24 hours, so I guess a swim, movie and maybe jump to dtd for a drink.

Another thing- Art of Animation occasionally has "flash mobs", wherein the cast members in the main building put on a song and dance routine, often pulling in young guests, so keep your eyes out for that.

Just taking in the all the sights around the entire complex takes quite a bit of time. You may even want to snag a Cozy cone cabana around the Cars pool to relax for awhile.

Every day in a corner of the front lobby they have Disney animation artists that teach drawing lessons much like the Animation Academy (or whatever it is called at HS). I think it is geared for kids but several times we were there no kids were there except ours so we sat in a did the drawing too.

There are a ton of photo ops. DH, DD & I went over to visit the resort last year and were there for a while just taking pictures with all the different themed areas. We obviously couldn't swim, but the pools looked pretty awesome too. If we ever stayed there, we'd probably schedule a day or 2 just for swimming. I think you could definitely have a great time there for a day!
