anything shut down in universal right now

Hi, We're heading to Universal in a couple of days and were wondering if anybody knows if any attractions are closed right now. Always nice to prepare for it ahead of time rather than be disappointed once you're there. It's our first visit so this forum has been a great help. Thanks all.

Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls is the only attraction closed for refurbishment at the moment.

BTTF is not currently closed. It is running at half capacity, but it is currently running. The only known closure currently is Ripsaw Falls.

Thanks so much for your replies all. Guess that Ripsaw falls isn't a huge loss as we probably wouldn't want to get soaked anyway. I do hope the weather is good though, but nothing we can do about that. Can't wait to get there!

Ah, I was under the impression that the whole thing was shut down and gutted by now. D'oh

If it's open when you're there, definitely be sure to take a ride on BTTF before it's gone for good.

The latest rumors are that it's not going to be gutted after all and that there's a good chance they'll just restore everything back to operating state since the Simpsons contract possibly fell through. At this point I'm not going to believe anything until its officially announced and as there has still been no official announcement that anything is going to happen at BTTF then that's what we'll look at.

If you or anybody in your family is about 6' tall don't sit in the back seat though. I have nicknamed it the Head Banger ride since everytime that I get stuck in the back row my head gets bashed in by the car. It is brutal!!!

So BTTF doesn't have an official closing date then? I read last year it was gonna be closing October/November time 2006, but this is good news if it's still open at the moment!
I take it they're keeping it open 'til something else gets confirmed, if the Simpsons has fallen through (quite glad about that), is it scheduled for any down time where they could be rehabbing it? (either into something new or restored to former glory!)

My friends will be pleased if it's still open in June, this was the first thing they mentioned when they said they would be visiting Universal, I told them I thought it was closed already, but now it looks like there may be hope!

There's a sign out front that says something about coming back to visit the institute at a future time which makes it sound like they may just rehab it after all. However there have been no announcements made of anything happening to this ride officially.
