I have. My third time there will be next weekend. I love that resort! I could go on and on about it, but since I am leaving work in five minutes, I can't right now. But yes, I enjoyed the food a lot and am in love with this resort. You should really enjoy it!

Well, I just got home from work so I can tell you all about it. I stayed there last May. I'd say I'm mixed on the place. I love the over-the-top themeing. It's garish and wild. Totally original. But after a day or so, it begins to feel a little Vegas-y. The pools are great, but there is little to no shade. Be prepared and slather on the sunscreen. And there's no hot tubs to soak your feet in after jaunting around the parks. That was a major bummer for me. Unlike the exterior, the rooms are minimally decorated, which caught me by surprise. It was also very crowded. And I felt like I had nowhere to relax. On my last day, I ended up laying in a hammock at the Poly sipping pina coladas, wishing I was booked there instead. By the end of the trip, I felt like I had stayed in a souped up Motel 6. I didn't hate it. Everything was clean. The service was, of course, great. But next time, I'll try some place different.

It was fun. I loved the oversized decorations, especially the Mickey phone and the Mr. and Mrs. PotatoHead. The food at the food court was better than I'd expected, and there was a nice variety. I looked at but didn't try the tie-dyed cheesecake.

The room was small but since we were hardly in it it didn't matter. The only problem we had was the first night our a/c didn't work, but we called maintenance and it was fixed the next day while we were at the parks.

I too would have loved a hot tub but for the price it was a fabulous resort!

I stayed there this past January, one month after it opened. I would definitely stay there again. The theming is absolutely fun. Like nickcarraway said, the rooms feel like a normal motel room, as do all the value and moderate resorts, but who spends that much time in their room anyway?!

And the food court is really good. I think it has to be the best "food court" style dining, at least better than those at any of the moderate resorts. (The tye-dye cheesecake is good, not great - your standard NY style cheesecake with waaaayyyy too much food color added :slurp: )

I stayed there in May and enjoyed it. One thing I liked about Pop versus the All Star hotels is that it has it's own bus system. The buses were still crowded, but it was nice not having to stop at other resorts. We stayed in one of the 80's buildings so we didn't have a far walk to the buses or the food court. I'd recommend it to anyone who's doing Disney on a budget. Just having graduated college, it was it's affordable for us. Hope you enjoy it! :)

I stayed there in May in the 1950's building "A". Loved it so much that when I go back I will be staying there again. My room was VERY close to the main building so that was very helpful too, especially when you are tired after walking in the parks all day. I didn't get to see the rest of the resort until my last night there but it was awesome.

I am spoiled, I always stay at a moderate or deluxe resort but I stayed at POP in April because we were going with some friends and the budget was tight. I could feel the Disney feelings in the lobby and the food court area but the actual hotel to me was a college dormatory. Over the top themeing dressing up Army barracks. Will I pay triple the amount per night and stay at a deluxe next time...yes. I stayed at the CBR last week,my last visit since the POP in April and it was A BAD visit. I am cancelling my November 8-17th stay at CBR,it was that bad. If I can't find an opening at a reasonable priced deluxe during that time frame I'm just not going to Disney. My wife's mad but why pay the Disney prices for bad service. In a nutshell POP is nice if you are used to budget hotels but if you normally stay at a moderate or deluxe you might be a little uncomfortable.

We stayed at the Pop Century this past month, and no I would not stay there again. If you don't care about being surrounded by the Disney "magic", then that may be a resort for you, however I go for Disney for every moment of Disney including my resort. The bus system is good, but other than that it gets a thumb down...... :(

disneys pop century value

is value for the money good or is it better to stay at the riverside port orleans or the carribean beach lets say instance ,please share your comments i know both hotels are about $50 more a night is it worth it, since you stay ther and sleep for about 6-8 hours of your time ?

A $400 room and an $80 room look the same when you're sleeping.

It seems that ALL of the bathrooms are small.

The value rooms are much smaller. If there are 4 of you, it might feel squeezed. For 2 people, I don't think it matters too much.

I would never recommend that anyone eat every day at any resort restaurant. (although apparently some people do). That seems to be limiting yourself unnecessarily when there are hundreds of choices.

Are the extras at the moderates worth it to you?
Do you want a sit-down restaurant at your resort?
Is a slide at the pool important?
Does the theming at the moderates hold more appeal for you?
What about water mice, surrey bicycles, fishing? Those aren't availiable at the values.

Our last trip was the whole family and we stayed at Wilderness Lodge because of the queen beds (we sleep on a king at home--a double is tooooo small) and bunks for our sons.

This next trip is my 10 year old and me and we're staying at Pop Century. I'm sure the room will be big enough, and we got the $49 rate, so I'm a happy girl.

I stayed there in June. The themeing is excellent. Everything still looks new. The rooms themselves are just like rooms at the All-Stars. The food is food-court type fast food. And there was a TON of kids.

While I didn't have a negative experience, I've decided to stay at Moderate resorts for my future trips.

We stayed there in May, 50's "C" building with a lake view. :)

The theming is excellent, food options leave a little to be desire (no chicken quesadillas!!! :fork: ). The food court is in the same area as the gift shop, which didn't carry as many things as the gift shops in the All-Stars, I thought. I also feel that the seating area is too small for the number of guests that could potentially all be there eating. Overall, I'd say it's a good value.

So does your car.

I think what Yellow Shoes is trying to say is that it all depends on if you plan to be around your resort for a long time durring the day. If you plan to use your room just to sleep, a value resort would suffice. If you want to be pampered in a lush, detailed setting, one of the moderate or deluxe resorts would be better.

As for myself, when I go to WDW, it's for the parks and shopping. I don't spend a lot of time at the resort so I always stay in a value resort. Makes more sense to me on my pocketbook.

We stayed there August 14-21. It was great! We stayed in the prefered rooms, 60's building B rooms 3468-3469 I believe. Its colorful, fun and exciting. Everynight we would go on the 4th floor overlooking the lake and watch the fireworks from Illuminations at Epcot. We also fed the turtles in the lake and the ducks every night. It was fun. I think you will enjoy it very much. Have fun!

We have stayed at each of the allstars and this past june we stayed for 2 weeks at Pop. We loved it. We had 12 people, 6 adults, 1 teen and 5 kids. 4 people to a room, no problems. But we are park people, we hit the pools in the evenings if we had time. The rooms were good, we had plenty of room for our clothes and luggage storage. I brought along Bongo bags to keep dirty laundry in before carting it to the laundry. The food court was nice, I liked the set up of the all stars better, with the gift shop seperate from the food court. Better pool areas for the kids at Pop and the lake view is nice.
I would go back again and actually I think we will stay at Pop in Feb. with the AP discounts its a great bargain.
So it all boils down to...what are you going for? If you want to be at Disney with all the perks early entry, package delivery to resort, the option of eride nights, Disney transportation to the parks etc., then Pop is perfect. If you want something more like fitness equipment, hot tubs, spa options etc. then you should look elsewhere.
