Hi, newbie here!

Does anyone know what candy will be given out at the MNSSHP this year as I'd like to be able to check it out to see whats safe for nut/peanut allergic children.

Thank You

I think after the "Habit Heroes" fiasco Disney has learned their lesson. They'll be giving out healthy foods this year for Halloween such as apples and oranges. For the Charlie Brown type kids, they'll get rocks.

Being from the UK I am unfamiliar with US allergy labelling,
I assume that they would have a warning if something actually contains nuts eg peanut M&Ms
But do they lable 'may contain traces of nuts' and 'produced on a line that also handles nuts' eg chocolate M&Ms
which also would be a no no for us due to possible traces of nuts.
hence important for us to check with companies to see if the candy will be ok to eat.

Sorry to sound like a bore and worrier, I just like to be prepared. Hopefully Disney get back to me soon.

Yes. They do say if it was produced in a factory that also handles nuts etc.

What is the 'Habit Heroes' fiasco?
It was an attraction designed to teach kids to make smart food choices. The dumb, fat kids picked the bad food and the smarter, healthier kids picked the healthier food.

There was an instant revolt during the preview by people who didn't want fat kids to feel shamed on their trip to Disney and Disney pulled it.

I applaud the thing itself, but feel it would be much better done on video or computer at home. Doctors could give them out, whatever.

Shaming children...in public, no less...is just cruel, IMO.
