I just love when I hear the ever powerful "It is was it is" uttered by someone who thinks they are clever. While that phrase has been around a while now, I am beginning to hear a new one..."Had to talk him off the ledge".

Anyone have one of the those phases that is overused?

"At the end of the day" - we had these 2 "power women" who would use that all the time and extend the a in day to daaaaay...so annoying.

OMG in my line of work I'm surrounded by them! I'm sitting here in my cube trying to think of all the ones I hear on a daily basis and can't think of a single one... I assume because I have blocked them from memory. That said however, I'm now watching this thread so on my next conference call when I hear one uttered I'll update this post! LOL! :D

Using terms like "leverage," "utilize" and "prioritize" is a good indication that someone doesn't know what they're talking about.

This is an actual Disney statement on labor standards in countries from which they source merchandise:

"We identify high-risk countries and prioritize visibility into facilities operating in those countries by utilizing the World Bank Governance Indicators, which assess country risk on a variety of topics. We also leverage our years of experience with facility working conditions throughout the world in conducting these risk assessments."

Not to pick on Disney - my own workplace is full of this sort of stuff.

Let's "drill down" and see if we can find "transparency"
