Anyone ever had an Apex Tablet?

My MIL is getting my son a Apex 7 tablet. We have seen some bad reviews online and seen that Google Play is not supported by it, which would not allow us to download apps. I am worried that it really is just a bland tablet we will end up returning for one that is supported. Any comments?

The lack of Google Play on a tablet means it hasn't passed Google's certification process. This usually indicates a tablet of poor quality.

I've never seen the Apex 7, so I don't know for sure. It really depends on what your son will be using the tablet for.
