Anyone else think resort hotel prices in late August are outrageous?

I'm looking to go in late August and I found rates for Yacht Club around $480...note that this is BEFORE Food & wine. I looked up the Four seasons and at the same time they have $479 rooms available......I cannot believe Disney thinks that they are on par hotel wise with the Four Seasons. :hilarious:

Think the prices will lower?

That's not how prices work. It has nothing to do with "on par," it has to do with "willingness to pay." Disney isn't saying they're "on par" with the Four Seasons, they're saying people are willing to pay the same price as the Four Seasons, and they're right.

Also, for what it's worth, I'd take a free trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge over a trip to the Four Seasons every single day of the week and twice on Sundays. The Four Seasons is fantastic luxury hotel, and I have absolutely zero interest in staying there. I'm not into $70 steaks or $60 glasses of wine. I don't want a massage or 18 holes of golf. I want zebras outside my window.

Me too! I'd take AKL any day.

Yacht Club also gives you location location location. Super-easy access to Epcot, access to Studios, Stormalong Bay, and access to YC/BC/BWI and Swan/Dolphin for dining.

Can you walk from the Four Seasons into Epcot and DHS?

Location, location, location. It's why if you want a 780 sq ft 1 bedroom anything in Manhattan you will pay over 1 million dollars, while the same 1 million in the suburbs gets you close to a mcmansion.

If anything the 4 seasons is making money off of their proximity to wdw.

Unless you have a discount, no I don't think the prices will lower. The market determines the price. I am very much like Captain America, when I go to Disney I want to walk out of my room and into world showcase. So I pay the price for staying at the Yacht or Beach club. Disney has no obligation to make the room affordable to me, I either can afford it or I can't.

This is all true... I'm doing four days at BC and 4 days at 4 seasons to get the best of both worlds this summer....
