Hey everyone! I just came back from Disneyland and was wondering if anyone else hear on WDWmagic.com was at Disneyland all-night from 16th-17th? It was pretty cool being able to sleep and "camp-out" in DCA for the night. My brother and I were along sunshine plaza, wearing the orange wristbands. We got in line around 11pm saturday night. It was deffinetly worth it. I felt like a little kid on Christmas Eve, so excited for the next day.

Interested to hear any of your stories from that amazing night.

I was there, too! I also had an orange wristband, and was in Hollywood Pictures Backlot by Cruella's trailer. :) I got in line about midnight. It was a blast! I was there with a bunch of Visions Fantastic folks, and we played Disney trivia and just hung out. :)

Thats really cool. I saw some of the poeple in HSB and it was pretty awesome to see tons of people sleeping all over the place and having fun together as Disney fans.

I wasn't there overnight, but I was there on the 16th. Now that I look back at it, I wish I would have stayed overnight outside to be in the park but hind sight is always 20/20! I bet everybody had a great time!

Wow! Where did you take a shower or did you just roam around the park all day stinky?

The 50th was AMAZING!!!!

We got there at 3 in the morning and camped out near the entrance to paradise pier. It really was so much fun!!! The 17th was amazing!!!! We got the "I was there" pin and were in the hub with great views of the anniversary cerimony at 10, for the replaying of the decication by Walt and we even saw the fireworks from the hub. All that inbetween riding all the rides. I was surprised how short the lines were on the 50th. After the fireworks we went to watch Fantasmic and while sitting there one of the techs came over and asked if we wanted to sit in the control booth. It was so cool hearing the show get called by the manager. All in all, it was a perfect day!!!

For Disneyland's actual 50th anniversary. We slept in Disney's California Adventrure, if you really want to call it sleep.

Do you think they would allow people to camp at Walt Disney World's 50th?

I kind of doubt it for a couple of reasons:
1. DL and DCA are a 90 second walk from each other with no street. They were able to move us from one to the other very easily. At WDW, none of the parks are within a short walking distance. You would need two parks so that they could have some time to clean the park with no one there.
2. DL lacks the space of WDW. From what I saw that night, the line to get in stretched all the way to Harbour Blvd. If they did not put us in DCA, then the line would have been all over the city of Anaheim. At WDW there is a lot of space around the MK that is not directly in Orlando. Last figure I heard was around 1,900 (9 wrist bands I believe x 1,000) that entered DCA during the night. You could deffinetly not hold that many people in the tram area between DL, DCA and Harbour Blvd.

But lets not forget, its Disney. Anything could happen. But whatever happens, it will be organized and an incredible experience. They did a tremendous job with this important day, and I believe they can do it again.

Only 8,168 days till WDW 50th! :sohappy: (I think thats the correct count)

Haha, when I was reading this thread and thinking about camping out in WDW, I was thinking of ways to get my mom to let me camp out over night there... But by the time WDW has it's 50th anniversary, I'll be long gone out of this house! Soo.. *No Worries!* :sohappy:
