It was cold out today and I made a bowl of Pastina and my wife was making fun of me for it. She said that it was nasty and only babies are supposed to eat it. I grew up with it and I found some at Publix a few monthes ago and bought it and just got around to making it.Anyone else had it? It was just the way I remember and it hit the spot.

Mmmmmmm.... pastina! :slurp:

I fed that to my kids all the time! A little butter and egg, salt & pepper.
I haven't had that in years! I make something similar, but use tiny bows or shells instead whenever I'm not feeling too well.

I don't eat it myself, but my wife also eats it as comfort food when she's sick. It must be an Italian thing. We Irishmen just stick to beer when we're sick (or well, or whenever) .

Maybe thats where it comes from! We always fed pastina to the babies, but my mom made what she called "egg noodles" whenever we were sick and her grandmother was from Naples. Hmmmm...

It's Italian for "tiny pasta"!

The ones above are in the shape of little stars!

ENJOY!
