Me and my wife are expecting twins in early December. I have a 7 year old daughter fom a previous marriage, so child rearing is not new to me. But, our new babies will be the first for her and of course, twins are something completely new for both of us. I was just wondering if anybody had any tips on stuff we will need to do, or things we definately need to buy.

We have taken some classes about multiples and done all the research but it would be good to hear from people with real life experience. We know it's going to be a lot of work and we enlisted a few people to help from time to time.

Hopefully you guys can give me some happy stories and experiences because my wife is starting to freak out a little.

I have twins so I thought I'd reply. Buy lots of stuff in bulk as you'll go through 15+ diapers a day if not more.

Sleep whenever you can. If there's a choice between housework and sleeping. Take a nap. Your chances of sleep for the first 3-5 months are slim and none, so use any time you have.

My other tip, you and your partner take shifts or turns to allow the other one some sleep time, because with twins. If ones sleeping, the other ones crying, and by the time you get the crying one to sleep, the other one has woken up.

Best of luck to you.

thanks for replying. Sleep is overrated anyway...

I had a very easy time with my first child, she would sleep through the night within 6 weeks. I hope I have strong sleeping genes...lol
