Any Vonage customers here?

Hey hey..

I'm moving in about 3 1/2 weeks to the new Casa MKT, and I'm deciding on whether or not to get a land line phone. Rather than a traditional land line, I've thought about VoIP through Vonage, since they offer virtual international numbers (having a UK number would be convenient at this point in my life, since the majority of people I deal with through my work are from the UK). Anyway, I just wonder if anyone has them, and if they do, how's their service and any issues I need to know about.

I use them. They are great. The quality is at the same level as any other phone, but keep in mind that it uses your broadband connection and if your doing something like downloading alot you may suffer a little. Also it uses about the same as a modem quality streaming video. So to test it out just look at some video and see if it screws up. My friend did this and it was because his DSL provider would allow a continuous stream of data for very long (5 minutes or more).

Not sure how Florida law's are, but here in Pennsy VOIP providers cannot offer 911 capability. If having that feature is important then VOIP probably wouldn't be for you. And bear with me on this since i'm not familiar with Vonage...but if their a cable company, obviously if your cable goes out so does your VOIP. You'd be surprised how many people dont get that last point !!!
