Any rumors out there as to what is next in store for SeaWorld Orlando?

I heard a rumor a while back that with Kraken and JTA both right next to each other, there was something in planning for the other side of the park that would measure the same "caliber" so to speak as Kraken. That was a few months ago though and I havent heard anything since, but I think its a good idea.

I have heard SWF is very happy with Kraken and will be looking into a coaster in the years to come. I wouldn't be surprised, Kraken is very popular and is run very efficiently. I would look for the next ride to be back somewhere in the back of the park by the Cyldesdales or Happy Harbor.

There was a thread on the forum a little while ago about SeaWorld opening a (fastfood ?) restaurant in or around Shamu Stadium - the idea being that you could watch the whales while eating. I looked but couldn't find the thread. I'm sure someone reading this will remember and correct this if the details are wrong.

From what I heard it was gonna be built in the Shamu close up thing, so your surrounded by the water and the whales while youre eating. Theyre doing the same thing at the Terrors of the Deep.

The "Dine with Shamu" expirience is already open and is a buffet. It's $28 for adults $16 for children.
You have to make reservations, and that there is only 2 seatings per day, 4:45PM and 7:30PM.

From what I have read the buffet will feature beef, chicken, pasta, seafood, salads, a children's buffet, and desserts.

The grill that's going in at Terrors of the Deep is scheduled to open sometime in fall of this year.

Thanks, but when you say "only 2 seatings per day" does that mean only 2 groups of people get to eat in there each day?

Yes 1 group at 4:45pm and another group at 7:30 pm.

I guess it's that way because you get to watch the trainers interact with the whales, and also you get the chance to talk with the trainers too.

If you get there a report on the facilities would be nice.

Busch Entertainment does not plan on any "new" rides in the near future(at least for any of the florida parks) They are focusing on shops and resturants. This was decided after many surveys were done in the park and other forms of polling people. Or so I heard ;)

Glad you posted this, everyone was talking like it was something that may happen, I was going to chime in and say I'll be eating there in November, but you are going before me. I think the Terrors of the Deep will be a sit down restaurant and will open this fall. Thee is info on both of these if you look at the SeaWorld page:

SeaWorld Unveils Adventure Dining Experience

"Deep-Sea" Dining Brings Guests Closer to Killer Whales

ORLANDO, Fla. - Central Florida's newest themed restaurant is making a splash at - where else? - SeaWorld.

Dine With Shamu offers park guests an awe-inspiring VIP experience and an opportunity to eat alongside killer whales, mingle with Shamu trainers, and observe training sessions in an exclusive backstage area. This buffet-style meal is located poolside and is sure to "wet" the appetite. A variety of food will be available, including: salads, pasta, seafood, beef and chicken entrees, in addition to a separate children's buffet, and a delectable dessert menu.

Dine With Shamu takes place at Shamu Stadium and accommodates about 200 guests per seating. Cost for adults is $28 and $16 for children ages 3-9. Gold, Silver and Platinum Passport members will receive a $5.00 discount.

Reservations for Dine with Shamu can be made by calling (407) 351-3600 (press 3) or by visiting the information counter at the front of the park.

If killer whales aren't intimidating enough, the park will soon debut an upscale, full-service restaurant at the Shark Encounter attraction. Set to open in the fall, Sharks Underwater Grill immerses guests in the underwater world of the toothy denizens. The restaurant features a "Floribbean-style" menu that blends Caribbean and Florida fare with an emphasis on seafood.

For general park information, call 1-800-4-ADVENTURE.

sea world really does need some more rides. I got a map of the sea world in texas and I think they had something like 3 coasters, a log flume, a rapids ride, normal water slides, and lots of carnival rides. it would be nice if more stuff was added to the sea world here. then you could actually spend a whole day there (maybe)...

Anyone Dined with Shamu yet? Should Reservations be made to do this? If so, how far in advance should they be made?

Also, if you went, how was the food?

We are going in the middle of November and already made our ressies. Good thing we did because I hear this thing gets booked up way far in advance. I would go to their website, get the number and call ASAP to get the ressies you need. Enjoy. BTW - we will be there the week before Thanksgiving if that helps you at all.

They closed the Bayside Statium Monday, which was host to the water ski show.

They are expanding that entire area into a shopping/restaurant district, much like Disney's Downtown Disney, or probably more like Universal's Citiwalk.

Personally I think they have enough rides, I don't go to Sea World for coasters, although Kracken and Journey to Atlansis are both great. Wild Arctic is kind of lame though.

I got my reservation for Nov. 3, Yeah! Can't wait, the Reservation lady made it sound really cool, more like a Dinner and a Show type of deal.
