My family and I had an awesome WDW vacation a month ago. We decided to stay an extra night, but we had to stay off-site somewhere because there were no rooms on-property anywhere near our price range. Of course, my son left his most cherished possession (Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom binder with lots of cards in it) in this hotel room. I didn't even know it was brought into the room; we were supposed to be bringing only the necessities since we were only there one night. By the time we discovered that it was missing, it was late at night after the housekeeping had gone home and there was another person supposedly in our room.
We called the hotel when we got home. They had the binder, and they said they could mail it to us. The person on the phone said to email them our credit card info and address, etc. and they would mail it out. I know that's not the smartest thing to do, but we were just going to hope nothing happened for the few days and then report the card lost after they mailed the package out. My wife got her hopes up that we could have it back as a surprise for my son's birthday, which was 11/18. Yes, this has been going on for a long time. A few days pass, and no charge. Few more... no charge. I call the hotel, and the woman that was supposed to do it was off, but she would do it the next day. Still waiting... no charge. When I call back, then they say that they aren't supposed to have any personal info like that and they shredded and deleted the e-mail. Makes sense, but it wasn't what we were working with before! So I call FedEx to come with a label... long story short, I am not happy with the front desk and I am not happy with FedEx.
tl;dr I am at my wit's end. I am just about ready to pull my hair out. I need boots on the ground in Orlando to get my son's Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom stuff back from a hotel on 192 and mail it to me. Anybody who has time to go down to talk to these people face-to-face during business hours when the housekeeping is still there.... please, please, please, please I really need help!
