I know in Nov when they announced it everyone went bonkers about it, but it seems since then nothing except the talk of the new cell towers has come out of Disney. Anyone hear anything new?

It's a possibility they are being used for the Kimmunicator for the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure...

I don't think so.

Verizon does have technological promotional consideration before you start the Mission though, paired with a standard Legal disclaimer from Disney.

I thought that I saw a listing about a verizon phone tower being installed somewhere.

There were. They had at least 3 or 4 locations around the property that they were either installing or upgrading the equipment already there. There were also some things that talked about new antennas within the World Showcase pavilions, which were most likely strictly for the KP game so that the phones would get clear reception within the World Showcase buildings.

I'm guessing that Disney and Verizon want to get all those antenna upgrades done and working before they roll out the new system.

From what I understand, it is pretty much dead.

But the Verizon partnership is alive, as they are still due to release their parks mobile app.

I personally can't wait, it sound extraordinarily cool.

I have the worst network, T-Mobile. :( I heard the KP World Showcase was awesome though. Quick question, sorry everybody. Does DH/DW/DD/DS mean Disney Son, Daughter, Wife and Husband?

Yes, it does. And welcome to the boards. There is a page with all of the commonly used shorthand on it somewhere on the site. Hopefully someone has a link they can post. Buy you'll pick it up quickly enough

Dear Son, Daughter .....

And for some reason I find it one of the most annoying things I have ever come across. "My DD 7 and DD 10 went to WDW". I don't know why, I don't fault anyone, and I use other abbreviations all the time. It's just the "dear whatever + age" thing that irks me.

I agree completely. DS, DD, D whatever drives me crazy. I don't know why but it does. probably because I don't speak like that in real life.

I use it as a simple way to talk about my son. I have stopped now that he's a poster here and has freely given out his name, but prior to that it made sense to not use his real name openly on an internet site. "DS13" isn't something he's likely to answer to when someone tries to claim they know his dad.

There are a lot of creeps trolling the internet, some people wisely choose not to use their family members' real names. I've always understood and respected that.

For the record: DS13 is Morgan, his WDWMagic logon is "Morgymon". :D

I have always just type "my daughters" when referring to my kids, if age is pertinent to the conversation then it becomes "my 10 year old daughter" or "my and 10 year old girls" or some other such phrase. I don't know why it bothers me, but it just does.
