Any new rides in the new Fantasyland?

I have seen some of the pics of the new Fantasyland, but are there going to be any "thrill rides" added to the area? If not, does Disney have any rides in the works that might rival the Universal rides?

The rumored Snow White coaster is said to have "family" type of thrills, but nothing that could be considered a real "thrill", like Test Track or Rock 'n' Rollercoaster. If I'm not mistaken, there is a mandate for the Magic Kingdom to not put in anymore thrill rides. I can't say I agree with it, but I believe that all future MK attractions have to be "family" oriented, thus skewing it to be a kiddie park in the future. Lee or others may have a better explanation of this.

In one word, no.

Warning OP, you are about to receive a lot of comments from members saying "oh Disney isn't about thrill rides" or "if I want thrill rides I'll go to six flags." To sum it up, Disney does not enjoy making thrill rides for WDW. The last major one was in 2006. We'll most likely receive a new one in 2013 at the earliest.

I think, since this post seems to always come up, we should have a sticky of just all the information we have on Fantasyland whether it be rumor or straight confirmed facts.

I can actually kinda understand this. I mean, wasn't the last "thrill" they did that Alien Encounter attraction? We all saw how well THAT went.
I think the thrill rides should be kept at Hollywood Studios. That seems to be aimed for the older market anyway

Honestly, I think after FLE they really need to overhaul that whole area of Frontierland.

Let's get rid of those childish rides Splash Mountain and BTMR.. Dag those rides are dull, boring, and non-thrilling..

Maybe we can petition Disney to build a fort for a Davy Crockett immersive meet and greet.. Instead of coloring birthday cards we can make raccoon skin caps!!!!! Not out of real raccoon of course... Build-A-Bear can sponsor...

I don't know what they were thinking with the Sleeping Beauty Birthday Card thing.

GO to Universal! We have Harry Potter roller coasters!
Go to Disney! We have color time with Disney Princesses!

Ya, the kids will sure have fun with that. And I'm pretty sure the parents will be happy with the money they're wasting.

I think if Disney's goal was to make thrill seekers come to Fantasyland, sure they would put one in. But sadly, it's not and their main goal is to have (little girls apparently) to have fun in Fantasyland.

Oh pssh, I'm a man and Fantasyland is my favorite part in WDW, and no, that isn't creepy; I'm just a huge fan of dark rides.

I have to disagree with you also.

This is also the main reason for the FLE re-imagineering that recently happened.

Let me rephrase that. I meant more along the lines of finding the people who will spend time in this part of the park not only for a few rides but for a whole afternoon. I think that is what Disney is working on.
