We just got the revised itinerary for our senior trip on Tuesday - and on Thursday morning we are doing a Youth Education Services [YES] Science Program.
Does anyone have any experience with this? It sounds sort of lame - I like science but this is in Disney and I would rather be on rides and eating food than doing math problems and work.
Thanks!! :)

My daughter's girl scout troop just did this in Animal Kingdom (they're 8 and 9 years old, mind you, so your program will be quite a bit different). They walked around with a guide, with those earpieces in, and talked about different animals (they were earning a wildlife badge). Then they went on the safari.

I'm sure you'll have a great time, even if it is educational. Go into it with an open mind and you may find it to be lots of fun!

I have done this program 8 times and am 34 days away from #9. My students can ONLY go if the school board okays an educational trip, so we take the Y.E.S. classes.
You won't be standing in one place the whole 2 1/2 to 3 hours or doing the same activity the whole time. They usually incorporate at least one ride into the program; you will use the fastpass line. If there is no ride you will probably receive fastpasses for a ride in whatever park your program takes place. They used to give tee shirts at the end of the program, but the past few years they have been giving pins (my daughter who has gone every year uses hers for pin trading..one less I have to buy!). If you will PM the name of your program to me I can be more specfic.

34 days until we are Orlando bound with 24 teens on a school bus for 930 miles of smiles:hammer:

I did this 2x (1ce in the MK once in Epcot), and I can tell you it's a ton of fun. They took us behind 3 rides at every park and told us what all the magic entails (like how they do what they do at the haunted mansion and we got to see it as there were people riding it!).

We got split up into 2 groups, 1/2 of us got to go with the guide in the begining, check in at a lunch place, then the other half go with her. while your not with the guide the park is yours (I know a ton of my middle skool buddys decided to go to morocco to check out some belly dancers).

To be honest I wish I would have got on the other one in Magic Kingdom, riding space mountain without AND with lights!!! My sis got to do that with her class n im still jelious :(
