Hello everyone, In June unfortunately I had to resign from my role at Disney due to a personal family emergency. (I'll add details below for anyone wanting to read more. Ever since then I've wanted nothing more than to return because I truly loved my job and miss it more than anything. I'm curious if there are any current cast members on here that have been listed as a restricted rehire but successfully had been rehired. I've searched the Internet for months and have found only vague information on the process. I'm always prepared and, with this meaning more than anything else to me, I'm very curious as to what is can expect once in submit my application. I really would appreciate any advice or tips and welcome any success stories. Thanks again.
The details that lead to my departure from Disney are a mix of circumstances that were beyond my control and my failure to handle the situation properly.
I moved from Houston to Florida specifically to work for Disney last year. I left a job that I was happy with to follow my dreams of becoming a WDW cast member and eventually advance to leadership. Today, that is still my dream and I haven't given up. The problem is, according to Casting I'm restricted. Anyways what had happened is in May 2014, my mother had attempted suicide and was in a very bad way. Knowing that I had left Houston and she was alone there, I did the first thing I could think of and go. My mistake was instead of contacting leaves for a personal leave of absence, I just called out for several weeks. Shortly before my return, I contacted leaves to let them know what had happened. I found out I was placed on an automatic medical leave after so many days and would need a doctor to write me back. After letting them know the truth everything was changed to call outs for several weeks, almost a month. I know I didn't deal with this properly and should have contacted leaves sooner. I was just such an emotional wreck and couldn't think straight throughout what was going on. I did end up returning for a few weeks while I worked with my leader to see if anything can be done to save my job. I worked harder in those last days than ever before and tried my best to shine. Unfortunately I was advised that it was in my best interest to resign. So I did. I was not terminated but I'm sure this huge chunk of absence is on my record card without any reason why. I'm just afraid I'll never have a chance to go back. I loved it so much and would stop at nothing to be given a second chance. If anyone has ever been in a similar situation I'd love to hear about your experience whether you were successful or not in returning. Thanks so much for your time in reading this and I look forward to hearing from some of you soon.![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
