Any Advice?

So I'm trying to book for January (exactly at the 7-month window) and, this morning, I was refreshing my search results at 08:00:01 EDT and all availability for 1/2 for all my primary options was gone in the 3 seconds it took for the screen to refresh. If I already have a set of search results on my screen that were loaded prior to the 8am window, do I just have to hit continue or do I have to refresh the results after that time in order to book? Any other tips you might be able to offer in the meantime? Thanks a million!

P.S. Is it possible that Riviera (one of the properties I'm looking at which is currently showing full availability) is not available because they adjust the inventory each morning to reflect the restricted inventory available to DVC for points?

Yes. If you are not booking your hone resort then you may have issues getting what you want.
You can book a split resort stay and keep trying to get somethubg t9 complete one of the 2 stays later on or try to book OKW or STS which may have full availability for your planned stay dates.

Yeah. We are already booked at SSR but were really hoping to land something else. Gonna have to keep at it I guess.

Riviera, especially, is unlikely to be available. Availability there is tied to how many points have been purchased in the resort so far, and that's a relatively small number at this point. You'll have more success aiming for resorts that are sold out.

So far, availability at Riviera is looking a lot like what you see at the Grand Californian. That is, almost everything is being booked out by owners in the 7 to 11 month window, and any scraps that are left are booked up INSTANTLY right at the opening of the 8 AM Eastern time reservation window, exactly at 7 months out. Since I am hoping to stay at Riviera during the first week of February, I guess I will probably need to jump in now and 'start walkin.'

That's exactly what is happening to me. The only way I could have been closer to the 8am, 7 month window is if I had uploaded my consciousness into the computer and started the process at nanoseconds after the time threshold. :p

THE UPLOAD WORKED!!! Managed to get a Preferred View 2BR for 7 of the 9 nights we were looking for! Other nights are on Waitlist. All I had to do was sacrifice my humanity and be plugged into the computer like something out of the Matrix. 😁
You will need to UNPLUG to actually visit and stay at the resort. Just don't forget that part. :p
Good luck on getting the 2 other nights!

Oh I just saw this (we were out of town and redoing kitchen the last few weeks). The hint is to *not* refresh a search at 8am. The new system doesn't require that. The 8am point is at the "continue" button.
