Just want to know if the double stroller rental, if I must pay seperately each day (I know the tip about keeping your receipt if you park hop daily) but I was wondering if they had any program where I could pay for the 6 days I was going to be there for any sort of discount on the first day and only spend the next 5 days in line to just get the stroller. Oh, and is the price still $10/day?

Yes, you can buy multiple days at a time. They will give you a ticket for each day. Then each day you get one of them stamped when you pick up your stroller.

You can pay the first day for a multi-day stroller rental, and you get a discount (in 2005, it was $2 a day).

I believe the price for a double stroller is higher than $10 a day. I believe it is $18 a day, $16 with the LOS discount.

Disney has a Length of Stay rental for strollers and wheelchairs. With the Length of Stay rental, you make a one-time payment for as many days of rental that you will need. Upon visiting a theme park, show your receipt at the stroller/wheelchair rental location and you will be directed through the queue with little or no wait. There is a slight discount when purchasing the Length of Stay rental ticket. The Length of Stay option is NOT offered during peak attendance times, however, such as Christmas.

Double strollers: $18/day (no deposit) or purchase $16/day length of stay rental.

It's not a bad idea to consider the idea of bringing your own stroller. At $16 a day, even for 6 days, thats almost $100. We can purchase the kolcraft twin Jeep Wrangler for $75 at home and use it around the resort, at Downtown Disney, walking to and from the bus stops, etc. Even if it's just for Disney, we can turn around and sell it on ebay or craigslist when we return.

Advice please...
We have three boys that are all very tall for their ages, which are 8, 6 and almost 4. For example, the four year old is almost as big as a 6 year old. So we don't even have a stroller because he grew out of it long ago. Do you think it's advisable to rent a stroller daily for the parks for us? Could the 3 year old sit with the six year old in a Disney double stroller?

my problem is we are flying, they don't use a stroller at home and they are more than capable to walk to the bus stops, etc. They wouldn't want to ride in a stroller there either. Plus, the idea of a disney stroller already has them excited that it is part of "disney" so it isn't a stroller. The logic of 4 & 6 y/o's! we are there for 6 days btw.

the gift shops at the resorts sell an umbrella stroller w\ shade and cup holder for 40.00, that may come out cheaper than renting ( or the same as renting a double) plus you can use them all the way to the buses and around the resorts and at downtown disney if needed. Then you could either give them to or trying reselling them to someone buying or renting a stroller on your last day....The umbrella ones do recline a little, not much and are much softer than the hard plastic rentals. Plus it is nice if you want to go 2 seperate directions to have seperate strollers...just a thought:animwink:

It's getting to be consignment sale season (at least around here) at the local preschools. I'm going to do what I did last time - buy a gently used stroller for DD. That way, I don't have a lot invested in it, if something happens, oh well. DD is only a baby and is too small to be comfortable in the Disney strollers.

On the other hand, DS will be 5 is too big for most strollers unless I buy an expensive one like a Maclaren just for him, which I don't want to do. I'm just keeping it in the back of my mind that we may have to rent one for him.

I really like the idea of the little platforms that go on the back of strollers for older kids to stand while the baby rides, but they only usually go to 45 pounds. I guess there could be a tipping problem, but too bad they can't make them for just a bit older kids!

Pushing a six year old and a 5 year old one trip, the Disney strollers are actually easy to push we found out. We were given a stolller once to push back up front one night at the MK by a cast member who noticed out sleeping 5 y/o. Other than that night, they have had no problem with walking on our last 8 day stay.We drive, so we bring a stroller for our 3 and 4 y/o last year., but might opt for the easier pushing Disny charriot this time now that they are a year older and spend the extra $$.

Just remember to write your name or highly decorate your stroller that you bring from home. This past July someone stole our DS stroller. And a lovely CM was going to get us a new stroller (the $50 dollar ones that they sell at guest services) then we found our stroller and the person who stole it. Boy where they embarrassed.

When we took our son to WDW, we used a stroller from home. Here is the reason why:
we were able to push him to the bus stops, from buses to parks, to buses from parks. If you rent in a park, you need to give it up and then carry a tried or sleeping child at 10 o'clock at night. Having our own also made me feel like it was clean, too. It was also great in the airport when getting off the plane and wheeling around the airports.

I would definitely NOT waste $16 a day on a stroller rental with kids those ages. A 4 and 6 year old will most likely walk from attraction to attraction on their own and the stroller will most likely stay parked in one spot, and then you'll move the empty stroller to the next spot and again your kids will walk. I'm willing to bet the only time the stroller will be used is at times when there's chaos (like after fireworks) or at times when you're walking a long distance (like walking past 7 countries in World Showcase). Is it really worth $16 a day for you to use a stroller for an hour?

I also have a 4 and 6 year old and we've taken them to Disney 8 times and used all different types of stroller combinations. The easiest thing by far is to just get 2 umbrella strollers ($10 a piece). It will save you a fortune, you won't have to deal with waiting for and returning a rental each day, you'll have a stroller to push your sleeping kids back to your resort room each night instead of carrying them, and they are small and easy to push through large crowds.

Flying with 2 umbrella strollers is no big deal. You just check them with your bags and usually the airlines don't even count them as luggage. You can also push them through the airports (they make great bag carts and check them as you step onto the plane. We have 2 that are only used for Disney and we keep them in the shed the rest of the year.

we got a stroller in january a length of stay one which saves you queuing every day and it was $2 a day cheaper. dont forget if like us you go off somewhere else one day you can get money back for the days you dont use.we got it for our 4year old but found after a couple of days the 8 10 and 12year olds were fighting to get their turn as well.and they are very handy to put everybodys jackets bags etc in
