Annual Passes Chatter

Anybody hearing anything about Annual Passes? Back in 2017, I believe--there was an amazing discount on the platinum pass.

I've been keeping an eye on them as I plan to pull the trigger on some soon.
DVC gets you a discount on the Platinum pass if you're looking and DVC gets you access to Gold pass as wel for even cheaper. Dunno if Visa Disney card discount will apply to buying passes or tickets.

Are you just thinking there may be an pass offering special discount in the works or looking for one?

We took advantage of the platinum discount in 2017 and never regretted it. They expired last week and we had a moment of silence...
Not knowing our plans for this year we felt it wasn't worth it to renew them. I would love for something to come out late in 2019 (post initial SWL rush) for 2020 as we would likely do it again.

2017 was 25 years of DVC.

Not going to happen with SW:GE opening. Considering they got us with two increases last year we won't see a thing. Maybe something for the 50th in 2021 - maybe - but I'd expect an extra month free at most if they offer anything.

Oddly we took advantage of the PAP+ in 2017 for our renewal and never used the plus options at all LOL

Sorry if it’s been discussed elsewhere but where I get that if you buy resale, you don’t get the membership card and discount perks, can a resale buyer get a Gold annual pass which tends to be cheaper and offer similar discounts or is that locked to direct buyers too?

That is only for direct buyers.

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought that would be the case but not the end of the world. Coming from the U.K. for only 2 weeks a year, it will be slightly cheaper to buy a U.K. ticket anyway but loose the discounts
