annual pass question

I thought I read that you did not have to have purchased an annual pass to reserve a room at the AP rate. Is that true? Is it possible to try to reserve the room at the rate and if successful, then go ahead and puchase an AP?

Absolutely. We made our reservations before we purchased any passes at all. The savings was significant, and we will be at wdw for 10 days so thats what made our decision to go ahead and get the ap's! good luck to you!

How quickly do the annual pass rates sell-out after they are announced? We are hoping they announce annual pass rates for December like they did last year!

I had the same questions as swimmom. Do they sell out so out quickly and has anyone been succesful getting an AP rate for Easter?

And for those of you who have used the annual pass discounts and also purchased Disney Vacation Points, could you let me know which one had the more significant savings? I'm guessing the points I've purchased are better, but want to make sure.
