Annual Pass Question- Are Certificates Still Mailed?

This is a question for anyone who has purchased a new annual pass very recently. Do you still get a certificate in the mail that is later exchanged at guest services for the actual pass on the day you want your year of admission to begin? This was the procedure the last time I had an annual pass. I'm trying to purchase a new pass online now but there's a statement saying I need to pick it up at will call. I think there used to be an option to have the certificate mailed. Has something changed? I'm not going to use the pass until February so I'm uncomfortable shelling out over $800 per person for something I'll have no tangible proof of for four months. I was going to buy the passes now simply so that I have access to the AP resort discounts. I can't view them without an active AP on my account.

Unless it's changed...For my 2016 AP I called to purchase my ticket through the WDTC and I got a email notification and a mailing notification...I hoping to get my 2018 AP before my trip..

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, that sounds like my experience in 2016 as well. I'm hoping someone has gotten a new one more recently though and can tell me if it's the same. When purchasing online, there's a statement that says the passes will be at Will Call. That's what is confusing me. I don't want to leave my passes at Will Call for four months. I guess I can just wait and buy annual passes when we arrive but then I have no chance at a room discount or fastpasses.

We always renew ours at a ticket window and all they mail us is a new fridge magnet every year. Well that and our new magic bands when I finally get around to ordering them online. I’m not sure how they do it if you buy them over the phone or off the website.

I renewed for the first time by phone and was given the option of picking stuff up at will call or mailing vouchers. I got them mailed but it looks like I will still have to stop at guest services for some exchanges. I will find out all it entails in 13 days.


I wouldn't wait until I get there to buy the AP, then like someone said they'd miss out on getting fast passes and any hotel discount.
