Annual Pass Info

I could use a little help here...

My wife and I are planning our annual WDW trip and we are thinking about getting APs again. We had them a few years ago and I'm wondering what's new or different concerning them. I don't recall being able to purchase them anywhere but at WDW when we had them before. Can you get them at a Disney Store or online? Can you get the discounts asssociated with them before you activate them at the parks? Also, what is the cost nowadays? I would like to use them for the room discounts, plus, I know we'll make another trip next year on the same passes, so I know it's worth the money; I just wonder how much money it is these days. And I have GOT to see the new AP lounges!

Any help would be most appreciated!
Thanks!:D

Ok themepark annual pass (parks only!) is $369.94 for adults and $314.82 for children. You can only purchase these tickets at Walt Disney World (correct me if I'm wrong someone) and I do believe you can use your Disney Club card for a certain percentage off... for more information I would suggest going to http://wdwig.com/apass.htm or just visiting http://www.waltdisneyworld.com (I find it eaiser at wdwig). I hope I've helped you out a little. Whenever you visit have a great time!

When you get your AP make sure that you get a Disney Dining Card.... About 30 bucks.... but eat at a $$ resturant twice and you have paid for it....It is a great deal and can be used at almost all Disney Resturants.... all of the resort resturants....and many of the Downtown and Boardwalk places.... free entrance to Atlantic Dance.... A must have .... we have enjoyed ours....PS... Rainforest will not take it....Boo......Have fun....Oh double PS.....if you are AAA.....and have been a member for a long time.... they will give you a special discount on AP vouchers.....:D

Unfortunately you can no longer "buy" annual passes and "hold" them until first use. Now you have to buy them at the park (no more Disney Store purchases) and their expiration date starts the day you buy 'em.... and remember before when your passes expired and you had a month's grace period to renew? Welp, you still have that month, but before your passes' year didn't start until you went back in the park, now the pass year starts the day your old passes expired regardless of when they are purchased...

this started about 2 years ago :( sucks b/c you used to be able to save a little $$ b/w renewals... for us it was working out great b/c our first set of passes was bought in like december of 89, and after about 10 years we had pushed back our renewal to like September, almost a "free year" sorta :)

Sorry if I was ranting unclearly

Unless they haven't changed their website, you can still order them over the web, get a certificate, and redeem the certificate at the park when you come.

Javier&Christie, if this is incorrect, where did you get your information?

Just curious.

I think Javier was talking about AP renewals. When you renew your passes they are good for 365 days after your old pass expires....no matter when you pay for the renewal.

When you buy an AP it is good 365 after you redeem the voucher in the parks.

Gepetto, that's what I thought that tigger1968 was asking. The way Javier phrased it:

made me think that the vouchers you could buy and redeem at the parks for your AP was gone.

I think you can still buy a voucher at most Disney Stores, but have to trade it in for the real thing at wdw. We bought our last set at Flights of Wonder in MCO. These are actually the real thing--not just a voucher, saving you the trouble of trading them in in the morning before entering the park.

As someone else recommended, wdwig. com has a wealth of information on this topic (including lists of current year passholder discounts).
