Annual Pass And Disney After Hours Question

Hey guys, I have a question about purchasing Disney After Hours tickets and Disney Annual Pass. Me and my girlfriend are headed to Disney in September, and we are strongly considering upgrading our Park Hopper Plus tickets to Annual Passes when we get there. We're splurging on a 7 day vacation at Animal Kingdom with the Dining Plan, but would use the Annual Pass to return to Disney throughout the year while staying at off-site hotels for 2 to 3 days at a time. We would love to go back and experience Rise of the Resistance when it opens, as well as other attractions like Mickey and Minnie's Mine Train, because it will otherwise be years before we can afford to go to Disney again, and going from 7 day Park Hopper Plus to Annual Pass isn't too expensive.

ANYWAY... I really want to do Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom on September 5. I've heard that these tickets sell out quickly, and I want to purchase them before they're gone. The regular price is $125 per ticket, but for pass holders it is only $95 per ticket. My question is: If I purchase DAH tickets now for $125 per, and upgrade to Annual Pass when we arrive to Disney World, can we get a refund of the difference between the regular $125 that we paid, and the new $95 price that we would be entitled to after upgrading? I suspect the answer is 'No', but Disney customer service has been pretty great in my experience and from what I've heard, so thought it would be worth asking. Thanks for reading and replying!

I am in a similar situation as you. I have DAH tickets for July and I plan on updating my 6 day hopper tickets to an annual pass for me, my husband, and my son as we have a 4 night trip in November and will have a 10 night trip in June 2020 scheduled. I have already purchased the DAH tickets (before we decided to upgrade) and I freely admit that I am going to try to get them to apply the discount to those tickets, which would equate to about $90. If they do, great. If not, oh well. I already saved 8%-10% on them by buying discounted gift cards. From what I remember reading, there has only been a few sellouts of DAH tickets. If that is true, I would just wait to buy them. However, now thinking about it, you should be able to call customer service and convert your tickets over the phone (unless you have a special package like free dining like I do).

It depends, I think.

If I remember correctly, we only got the AP discount once because we bought the DAH after hour tickets ahead of time. Buying them day of, gave no discount.

So, you would have technically bought advance but AP would be like day of...Idk.

I really hope they do!

If you are planning on buying your annual pass out right (no FL res payment plan) then upgrade your ticket now on My Disney Experience. Once the upgrade is complete and you can see it on your account go ahead and buy the discounted After Hours.

I went ahead and upgraded my tickets to Annual Passes through TicketsAtWork (my employee discount website) because Disney just raised the price by $200+ per pass. (Saved $400+!) I went ahead and linked the passes to my account. But when I view special event tickets in MDE, they still show the regular price. Any idea what’s up with that?
