Annual fees? If so, how much?

I am researching DVC. I am curious about a couple of things and thought that I would come to the experts:wave:

Are there annual fees assessed for the DVC locations? If so, how much would they be? I am currently looking at a resale location at Vero Beach and at OKW. Does it depend upon point values?

Thanks so much for any info!!

Yes, there are maintenance fees and they are based on how many points you have and to which resort you belong. I will tell you that Vero Beach has very high fees compared to the other resorts.
We have 50 points at VB and would love to deed them back so we could buy elsewhere, but the points have gone up in price so much since we joined that it doesn't make $$ sense.
Still, when I get my statement each January and see the breakdown of points and fees, I wish I could move those 50 points.

Annual fees can (and will) go up each year. It's normaly on the order of single digit percentages.

This is not some sort of money maker for Disney/DVC though. If you read the contract, the DVC is not allowed to make a profit based on the annual fees. They are to be used for maintaining the property. So if somthing causes an increase in maintance costs, such as a raise in minimum wage, or hurricane damage, the fees will most likely reflect those cost increases.
