Hello All!

Long time lurker, new poster here!

My parents are going down to WDW this May for their 30th wedding anniversary. As a family we have been down to WDW more times than I can count, so there is not a lot that we have not done...My question is, is there anything my brother and I can surprise them with that they may not expect? Is there a magic-maker cast member that I could contact for assistance?

Thanks in advance!

Just by letting Disney know that this is a special anniversary - they'll have that attached to every meal and experience they have. The florist is a great idea. We did that for my daughter's birthday one year. It was so special for her to find a beautiful display in our room when we returned one night. Years' slater - she still keeps it on her dresser at home. A special meal at their favorite restaurant is perfect. You could add the Wishes! Fireworks cruise or a special event for them. Make sure they get their special Happy Anniversay! Pins, too.

For my parents 55th anniversary, some of the restaurants had their names and "Happy Anniversary" printed on the menus. Some places will give you a special dessert or even a glass of champagne.

I also have to second the Wishes Fireworks cruise -- the boat was decorated with balloons and an anniversary banner. You can also get champagne for it if you're so inclined. (Additional cost, of course.) They still talk about that trip.

Good luck!

My friend her family took their first-ever vacation as a family to celebrate her husband's retirement from the military. He was recently awarded the Purple Heart. We wanted to do something special and one of the things we did was a welcome basket. It was delivered to their room after check in.

We looked at Disney Florist but got more for our money along with more customization with Pixie Dust Delivery Service. She was wonderful to work with and I would use her again in an instant.

If you use her, please let her know Nicole from WI (reference the Purple Heart Family - The Miller family trip) sent you!

@Lvant : here is her website -

Below is the welcome basket she made for the family and each of the kids had a plush (this is the basket before she wrapped it in clear cellophane, red/white/blue ribbons with the same color scheme balloon bouquet:

For our 30th I arranged a Wishes cruise on Bay Lake one evening for DW myself and our friends. We met at the dock outside the contemporary. The boat was decked out in balloon and streamers. I had them arrange for snacks, drinks and an Anniversary cake ahead of time. The boat pilot was excellent, told stories and gave us a great trip to watch the fireworks over MK. It was a memorable way to celebrate our 30th.

An update to the surprise - I was able to speak with an AMAZING cast member at OKW (where they are staying) who was absolutely beyond helpful.

She was able to set it up so that my parents had unlimited fastpasses for each of their 5 days in the park. They get to hop in the fastpass line for any ride as many times as they want. WOW! I didn't even know that was something Disney could do! She also made sure that there would be beautiful flowers in their room all week long.

Update to the update - spoke with my parents today, who are currently in the Magic Kingdom, and they are having an absolute blast thanks to the extra Disney Magic! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
