Anniversary Dream Trip

My wife & I honeymooned at Port Orleans French Quarter in 1998 and our 15th anniversary is coming up next year. We've been back to WDW with the kids a few times (Coronado Springs 2008, Caribbean Beach 2010, and we're going to POFQ again in October) but we've had hopes of a 2nd trip for ourselves for our 15th.

My dream would be to stay at Beach Club and have walking access to Epcot and the dining in World Showcase. I've only stayed at moderate resorts and have only booked through Disney directly so I'm looking for tips. What's the best way to book into Beach Club? Is it something where I can rent DVC points? I've heard of it but am otherwise clueless about it. Our anniversary is in May, so we'd plan for a May trip. I want it to be nice, but also would try to save $$ where possible.

Thanks!!

The cheapest option for BC next May would be to rent points from a DVC member that owns there, since they can make the reservations now. That would guarantee that the room is reserved. We own at SSR, so I cannot see availability for May at BC, but would imagine that something would still be available. Of course, you have the caveat that you do not control the reservation, and everything has to go through the member for any changes, additions, etc. Some people have had good experiences renting through David's DVC Rentals (just google it), and I'm sure there are others out there. He charges $13 per point. As an example, for a stay from May 5 - May 11 it is 100 points for a studio, so, would be $1300 (plus fees, I would imagine) to rent the points. The same booked through Disney is over $2800! Can be quite the savings. Good luck!!
